Took my family here for dinner last night because I heard they're moving locations soon closer to my house out off West Adam's. We are longtime residents of the Temple/Belton Community and haven't ever been impressed were hoping to fall in love but man, we sure didn't.
The experience. We came in busy night world series and Texas Football so the place was packed. The bug fan was so loud the hostess (who was on her phone and more annoyed at us she had to put it down) said "this is the only spot hope that's ok" and rolled her eyes. High top at the host podium it was what it was we took the seat in good spirits though put off by the less than welcoming welcome.
Our server was punctual she was right there got the drink orders brought them out and took our app and food order. I asked right then for plates, utensils and ranch based in previous visits where our food got cold waiting for an MIA waitress to bring those items and kitchen staff brining out our food. She assured me she would.
That's where the train wreck started. She was MIA at the bar for the next 30 minutes talking with other waitresses and staff our apps came out the same time as our food and to no surprise the kitchen team brought out 2 apps, our pizza and wings we had no plates, utensils, ranch or waitress for almost 15 minutes after it was brought out.
Between the hostess and her phone - she truly looked like she hated life or her job she didn't smile once the whole time we were there and she was equally as awful with everyone that came in I guess privilege of sitting at the hosting station - you see everything. The waitress that was more worried about catching up with the crew which with how busy it was was very off putting.
I was annoyed with the quality of the food, the quality of service and the price of the bill. If the service were better I would be ok with the quality of the food and price but when all three are lacking maybe stay put and don't come to the West Side. Harsh but true. This was a reminder why we don't visit this establishment. It's an ok place to take a volume of people or families for or after sporting events for mediocre food and inattentive service.
The best interaction all night was actually on the way out. We always clean up our table stack the plates and make the bus boys job a little easier because we've all been there it's not a glorious role. He came over after we finished wiping our table down stacking and sorting things and thanked us for doing that. He said patrons can be so inconsiderate for leaving a terrible mess, or having to reach across them that he appreciated with us he didn't.
Make your bus boy your host, he knows how to treat and interact with people - hes also attentive and punctual - from every interaction HE and he alone was the saving grace...
Read moreYou're chicken is some of the best in Temple! The boneless are better than the bone in! I like the creative flavors you have especially the Parmesan & Garlic! And I'm going to try the spicy flavors in the future especially the ones with two and three flames on them! Pizza and dough tasted good! I have to ask you do you make the dough & the toppings from scratch because the pizzas don't taste cheap! :)? There's only one place in Temple that I've tried so far that makes pizza from scratch that's just as good but better which is Italianos, but I like that you make your wings and your pizza from scratch they taste so good! And Mike do you have plans on expanding in Temple because there's a space right next to you that you can get to expand is it within your power to do that! And it would be nice if we could order online and pick it up or have them deliver but that might require an expansion! Do you deliver? If you're ever in Temple or if there's a wings pizza n things near you stop by and try their wings and pizza! We go here on Tuesdays wait times are a little bit long but most people don't realize that if you want food made from scratch and cooked to order you will have to wait! Your Grandmother doesn't just pop out ham and turkey in 15 minutes right! Service wasn't bad either, so worthy of at least 10% tip which they live off of after taxes is taken out! Overall very good experience nothing to complain about! Good workers and good food made from scratch! A lot of restaurants don't make a lot of their stuff from scratch and don't use all natural ingredients! Your company really needs to consider expanding this location there's a space available for lease or sale or whatever right next to the tanning place if you expand you will have opportunity to do more and exponential growth 100% guaranteed! I like you're servers use electronic ordering much more efficient especially if cooks are reading orders on a electronic device while cooking! And I'd highly advertise the quality of your pizza more like on the menus or in the restaurant so people can know you're pizzas are made from scratch and your wings so they know what they're getting! In the future you should add deserts to your menu like brownies or cinnamon rolls! We will be coming back on Tuesdays! Especially with the twelve for twenty! The thin crust pizza is better than the regular! I like all the TV's too! You can tell from the service that the manager/owner/owner's works with his/her employees too! Keep up the hard work and keep thinking exponential because your...
Read moreFood is good but way overpriced. Service is absolute trash.
Edit because there is no way to respond to the owners follow up: I’ll admit, way overpriced may be a stretch, so I’ll drop the “way” but still say at least the wings are overpriced; $10 for 10 bone in, relatively small wings seems far too high. Furthermore, I ordered to-go food and waited at the bar with a beer; from the time my food arrived (clearly to go), it took about 15 minutes to get the bartender to give me a check because she was too busy checking her Apple Watch or hanging out with other guests. Furthermore, when she returned with my receipt, she didn’t say a single word but rather shoved it in my face; no “thanks for coming”, no “have a good night”, no “hope the food is good”; nothing. Not only did I not feel like a valued customer, I felt as if my business and patronage wasn’t appreciated.
Also, this isn’t the first time I’ve come here. In fact, I’ve both dined in and carried out a few times. Last time I carried out they forgot a part of my order, even though I confirmed the order as placed on the phone when I arrived at the restaurant and the hostess confirmed she would make sure it was there. Yeah, I should have checked before leaving rather than blindly trust it would be correct, and yeah, the hostess did call me 15 minutes later to admit they had forgotten a part, but that doesn’t change that fact that I was let down by the service and still paid for food I never got (because I wasn’t wasting my time and money driving back to fix someone else’s mistake).
Sorry if you think the service downfalls led to a harsh review on my part, but rather it was my disappointment in the service provided that led to an posting and honest and thought out review. Will I try again? Probably, but I genuinely hope for a better experience in the future because I was not impressed with the experiences I’ve had thus far.
Hope that helps clear...
