Freezing Point Creamery — Restaurant in Temple

My family and I love going to Freezing Point Creamery which makes it unfortunate that our experience today Sept 19, 21 wasn't the best. Today we waited in like for around 30-40 minutes, during that time we watched one of the ice cream workers continuously touch her hair and face and then proceed to mix and serve ice cream. Other customers waiting in line commented about it too (I don't mean to embarrass the girl she seemed sweet but I do not appreciate being served food after someone touched their face and hair). Also, during the 30 minute wait when it was my turn in line after my moms, I asked for the almond swirl dairy free ice cream (one of the only dairy free, gluten free ice cream in the shop that is delicious I highly recommend it) to which I was told they didn't have it, and when I asked why the ice cream wasn't available considering there was a small advertisement for it, and every time I came to the store they had it I was told that "the machine didn't make it today". Though this may not have been a worker error it was very frustrating that almost all of the dairy ice creams were available but the one dairy free and gluten free ice cream they had wasn't. We basically waited in line for nothing. I want to note that my other experiences at freezing point have been great! I absolutely loved every experience I had at Freezing Point (even back when it was Maggie Moos) until tonight. It was super busy like always and most of the team members were great. Shout out to Braden and Abby who handled the night like champions. They were continuing on with smiles on their faces, and making the best of it. But my fiancé and I were checked out by a young lady named Taylor, and she was very rude. She asked what we had and I explained that I had a small with two mix ins and she snapped back real fast that “It didn’t matter if you had mix ins, I just need to know the size” which made my fiancé and I look at each other like wow that happened. Then she acted like it was an inconvenience that we paid with a gift card and once we were done paying she was like “I don’t know if this has anything left on it but here.” And threw it on the counter in front of her. I spent years as a manager in an ice cream shop like this and I would be mortified if I had an employee who acted like this...

Great Ice Cream! But it’s got super dirty air vents and ceiling. Owner seems very nice. I hate to leave this review. I realize most people don’t care, but I cannot eat food that’s going to have that kind of dust all over it. Dust is dirty and unhealthy. Besides changing your filter, you have to clean your vents when you have a food establishment. What is up must come down especially when it’s right by airflow. I know not all owners/landlords will take care of the vent cleaning but you have to do something about it if they won’t. If you feel you shouldn’t have to pay then Take pictures call the county because I guarantee you it’s a problem. This ice cream place needs a women’s touch anyways no music and behind the counter looks like they are halfway moving out. Rent here has to be more expensive then some...
