Thai Lotus - TEQUESTA, FL — Restaurant in Tequesta

We had our first positive Thai food experience last night here in South FL. We have been to several Thai resteraunts in south FL, but we have not had a true Thai food experience...most of them are very Americanized in not only their selections, but their ingredients. We had a fabulous experience last night at Thai Lotus. We really enjoyed the robust flavorings that naturally happen when dealing with fresh ingredients made to order....not frozen foods prepped days before. It takes a little longer because everything is made to order....totally worth the wait. We had the dumplings paired with plum wine(exquisite dumplings I might add). We also had the tempora shrimp roll with Thai tea (no bitter aftertaste with the tea-means someone knows how to brew this delicate tea properly), and we enjoyed the Lotus Delight Level 3 spice....it was perfection!! The chili sauce was the perfect amount of heat. If it ever grew a little too much heat, a quick sip of Thai tea knocks the heat out immediately. I love that they bring to you as much rice as you would like in these beautiful silver pots...just added to the authenticity of the meal. We also had the wonton soup-very flavorful and obviously homemade. Probably the best I have ever had. The prices are very good for what you get. I have been ordering from here for six years and the food has always been consistently good. Today I ordered the green curry chicken to go, one of the dishes I have been ordering and enjoying for years. When I got home, I noticed the size of the container was about 30% less than the normal size that I’ve been getting for years. I called to see if they maybe gave me a lunch size portion instead. At first the woman tried to deny that it was a different size but finally admitted that because prices have gotten so expensive they had to change the container. Needless to say I was frustrated and disappointed. The normal size is usually enough for my wife and I to share. If prices have gone up, they should just charge more or at least let you know the portion sizes...

First time going here as it is a local place w good reviews. Ordered two rolls. Got home and opened the stryofoam box and was immediately hit with a terrible smell. I have never gotten such bad sushi or takeout before. I have no idea how they could plate and pack this with the smell. So I started looking at the food . Immediately noticed a hair in the sushi roll … all the veggies were slimy and old. Tuna stunk. Seaweed wrap was wet and smelly too. Went back as per their orders and they refunded me. I could never imagine someone wanting to eat here on how dirty and old everything was . Care should be put in every meal. I’m so grossed out and I feel like my kitchen still smells...
