Square Donuts Inc — Restaurant in Terre Haute

The last four times that I’ve been in town I’ve tried to get the glazed square donuts. I get there between 9-10am and they’ve been sold out EVERY TIME. I watch the people in the back doing absolutely nothing when they could be making glazed donuts. It’s TWO hours before closing; make the donuts. Tired of the “get here earlier”. If I were the owner I’d be looking at how they’ve lost over $40 for each time they haven’t had those available just from me. They tell me I can call the night before to reserve them. I visited while in town for work based upon the advice of a couple of locals. There were about 6 prople waiting when it opened at 6am which suggests to me it must be decent (or they need to open earlier). I went with the dozen (for $9) consisting of a mixed selection and square glazed. Overall, they were very good, fresh, and a wide selection to choose from. To me, I was happy to try a non-national chain, but I think it was slightly over-hyped by the locals I spoke with leaving me slightly disappointed. Square donuts is one of my favorites! Freshly made. The perfect consistency of freshness. They had pumpkin spice & an apple one my husband enjoyed. Im a generic plain glazed kind of girl. The twists are good too. Powdered with jelly is our sons favorite. It is cash only always. I got 6 donuts for just under $10 but did get 3 glazed & a glazed twist. Reasonably priced for what I got. Clean environment. Friendly, helpful staff when ive been there. It is a small establishment, not a big parking lot so it can get busy & congested. I went later after an appt & still got what I came for but they do sell out of some donuts early as it is an early morning...
