Update to this review: On 10/9, my husband and I placed a pickup order to be ready at 8:20. We waited and waited. It was roughly 8:45 when the cashier asked who had yet to receive their pickup order. So we raised our hands. She requested that we provide our Chipolte confirmation order number, which we did. She told us that since it was not in their system, they couldn't help us and to contact customer support on the app. We left with NO food and money out of our pockets. I had to literally work an additional 20 minutes to even get to a representative to finally reimburse us, which is another issue in itself. During our wait time to receive our food (Which we did not receive): We watched an employee (while making a burrito) take their phone out of their pocket, answer a phone call, end the phone call, put the phone back in their pocket, and continue making someone's burrito WITH THE SAME GLOVES ON. (Which Chipotle didn't seem to think was an issue, I am sure the health department would say otherwise) One employee hid in the back We watched an employee take the printed-out receipts for the to-go orders, rip them off, crumble them up, and throw them in the trash.
Of course, I am upset about the service, but I truly believe it goes deeper than this. It sucks because Chipotle's whole brand used to be the pinnacle for healthier options in a world obsessed with fast food, and honestly, kind of a big deal to work there. Now, it's clear they don't pay their employees a living wage and don't hire enough staff during their shifts. I would be hiding in the back, too, if there were 50+ to-go orders and 10+ customers in line, and I am expected to bend over backward for customers for, I don't know, $10 an hour?! It also takes far too long to get in touch with customer support. And they had the traditional quick responses when I brought all these issues to them (that are clearly a button they push, it is not a real response from the person). Read moreGiving 2 stars only because I haven’t had any problem with the food quality. However, service is worse than garbage here. I’ve had MULTIPLE instances of incompetent and sorry customer service here. I usually place mobile orders and never had any issues at any other locations/cities except this one. I guess they love to hire people that can’t do basic job. Multiple times I’ve come to this location to pickup my order and getting straight up ignored. I would tell the people at the pickup shelf that my order is ready and that although they heard me, they refuse to respond. Literally. They just stand there and act like they’re in another world. And they even told me in my face that “they heard me” in a nasty attitude and yet still refused to give me my order like what the? Multiple times other servers had to come over and get me my food because the incompetent person refused to do anything. The malt recent instance happened today 11/9 at around 12:50 ish. There were 3 people working the pickup shelf but one woman had the worst attitude I’ve seen and apparently did not know how or did not want to give people their orders. Read moreLet me just start with this review does not have a reflection on the food whatsoever. Though they didn't have any Chicken Al Pastor when I went in, the food was still very good.
The service, however, is atrocious. The people working there seem as of they're absolutely miserable. We stood at the front, waiting to be helped, while the person behind the counter cleaned up a few things, and so forth, for a good 3-4 minutes. I can understand being busy, but we're just standing their awkwardly, wondering if this is even the person that takes orders, or really what is going on. A simple "Just give me a moment" or something of that nature is just simple etiquette.
This is the second time we've been in here and had this experience. I'll reevaluate if I ever talk myself into going back into this place. If you dislike your job so much, move on. There are people hiring everywhere.
