We come to dairy Queen here in Texarkana when we're visiting my wife's family. It's always good. Food is hot and fresh. The crew is focused on their work. It's clean in here. I had the Hungerbuster JR combo (fries and a medium drink) no onions add mayo/ extra mayo. Good amount of lettuce and tomatoes. A bit of trivia that you probably didn't know, Dairy Queen's grill food items are different depending on which region of the country you are in. On the west coast the grill menu is different. Yes they had burgers fries and chicken items, but the burgers are very different. Be careful coming in here when it's been raining outside, the floor is very slippery for some reason. More so than you would expect. I seem to recall it is always that way here every other time we've been here over the years.

The guy that made my banana split was very friendly and made a very nice banana split. I believe this is probably the best dessert for the price in Texarkana. Cold Stone is way too expensive for such a tiny amount. The banana split at Dairy Queen is under $5 after tax and you get a lot more ice cream than other places plus all the fruit and chocolate syrup. I would definitely recommend trying it at least once. I plan on going back myself.

Very clean and meticulously maintained. Friendly folks at the counter. Easy to get to off I30, but if you're headed down 59 you have to go a little out of the way and make a u turn to get on 59. Not the best parking lot if you're in a large RV or towing a trailer but there's an adjoining shopping center with plenty of open parking space

Slow service is commonplace here, regardless of how good treats and HungrBusters are or aren't. Special ordering instructions are often not attended to very carefully, either.

The line for drive thru service at the window is one in which you may find yourself waiting for far too long, only to finally get to that tired window and to thereby be told to move and park around the front (to wait longer still) where your order will be delivered curbside.

Common courtesies are unrequited, mostly. You seldom hear an appropriate response (such as, for example, "you are welcome") other than an occasional "uh huh" or "yeah" in politely expressing any thanks to employees.

(Silly? Maybe. But, that just urks me--in part because I think it's representative of a bigger problem with customer service in far too many stores and businesses these days anyway and in part because it ignores a basic social convention, or norm.)

I still 'scream for ice cream at' and from 'Dairy Queen,' though. I'd be lying to say differently. And when I do, it then becomes a reliable matter of willingness to test my patience.

Please hurry out with that Dr. Pepper Freeze-- before it becomes a...

Came in a little after 9 pm. We were told several times they close at 10. The young man at the counter seemed new. There was no ice in the soda machine, they were aware because the lid for the machine was on the floor. The woman who seemed to be in charge decided they weren't serving ice cream for the last hour. Every time someone tried to order she told them "I just changed my mix it's gonna be 25 - 30 minutes before it's ready". We were there 45 minutes, she never changed that time. The whole crew seemed more interested in playing than taking care of customers. The food was pretty much what you would expect from fast food. But, seriously Dairy Queen without ice cream is just...
