Bakery Donuts — Restaurant in Texas

A little disappointed on this (my first) visit. This place comes highly recommended from friends and coworkers. First, the place opens at 430am, I arrive at 515am and the doors are locked but all the lights and "open" signs are on. After waiting a few minutes, one of the workers opens the door... no sorry or anything. Next, NOTHING is set up in the cases except a tray of fritters. The clerk points to pictures of items and says to pick and she will get from the back. Ok, maybe they're having an off morning... so it's not really a big deal. (We've all been there.) Everyone has been raving about the boudain so I order a spicy regular. It was good! I'll give them another try... maybe go at a later time. I would love to see the food selection on display. We are always looking for a great 'ma n pa' donut shop and this was terrible. The service was hardly friendly, the cashier didn't even try to sell his food. The kolaches were below average, sausage tastes more like hot dog weenies than sausages. The sausage croissant sandwich was okay but make sure they heat it up properly because it was lukewarm when my husband ate it. The coffee was your average sucky coffee. I asked for a refill (on sucky coffee, crazy, I know), only to find out they charge a dollar for a refill. I was sitting in there the whole time! We tried a cinnamon roll and that too was terrible. It was hard and almost stale. It was definitely not worth the almost $25 we spent. Never...

Just went in there at 9:00 to his morning to get a half dozen plain cake donuts and they only had one. Ok fine. I guess it can happen but they had a case full of all the other ones. Wasn’t going to say anything negative just about that. But then I asked if they could make some more and was rudely told no. I don’t care about the “no” part (although I think it’s kinda cheap and poorly planned. Plain cake is the most basic form of donut) so much as the rude part. At least give the “so sorry but we’re out of that for today but please come back tomorrow” or something like that. But no I was just told no...
