This review is solely based on my experience on today. Suggested by my wife we went to dine. So to make a long story short....upon paying for our meal I was handed a dirty glass. Water spots I can handle but stuck on food residue I won't do. I gave the glass back and requested to use a togo cup instead. Fixed my water, wanted to add lemon, however the lemon container had not been replenished. The few in there looked as though they were in there from the day before. Also no straws available, they didn't put any more out until we were leaving. Taking our seat I sipped my water and it had a funny taste as if the drink/ice machine hadn't been cleaned in a while. I order the potato cake which I got in the line, and the provolone chicken rice bowl that I had to wait to be prepared and brought to me. My wife had to replace her utensil because the first one was still dirty with food particles. As I waited for my food I had eaten my potato cake but my additional dish had not come out. I noticed several customers after us receive their orders but I hadn't yet received mine. We had to check the receipt just to make sure they added the dish on our order. Well I sat and watched my wife eat her food alone. We did not have the pleasure of enjoying our meals together. Finally when we where getting ready to go, I'm guessing she was the manager, noticed we still had our letter tag on our table so she went to the back to check on what we were waiting on. We went to the counter to ask about the dish and finally it came out which I had to tell them I'll just get it to go. So they put it in a togo container handed it to me without a bag, without any utensils, and without an apology for the wait and inconvenience of having to take my meal to go because someone dropped the ball. It was not busy at all, numerous employees, but much disorganization. Needless to say this was my first experience visiting La Madeleine and will be my last time visiting La Madeleine. Additionally the food is subpar based on other restaurants in the area. Coconut cream cake taste store bought or brought in from off site not homemade. Customer service non existent beyond ordering and paying for your meal. Dishes not cleaned very well. No hello's or thank you's for coming. I hope others do not have the same experience I just had because this left a sour taste...
Read moreWas in La Madeleine for breakfast. I found the manager, Lester, to be apathetic and discourteous. My husband and I waited to place our order as Lester chatted with a worker. He did not ask us to excuse him while he handled whatvever non-emergency issue that was at hand nor did he acknowledge our presence. When I mentioned it to him, he gave me a blank stare. I suggested that he should have acknowledged that we were standing there. He said flatly "I spoke to you when you came in". I don't know if he did or didn't. I don't think he did. Whether he did or not, it had no relevance to our waiting for his little chat to end. He said nothing but just stood there waiting for us to place our order. We did. I ordered the potato galette and an order of bacon. I was told that the galette would take 10 minutes. I was okay with that. After several minutes, my husband received his order and I received 3 bacon slices. I suppose I could have stated I wanted to receive the potato galette and bacon at the same time. I did not realize that it was necessary to state the obvious. I returned the bacon order to the counter. A young woman at the counter told me the galette would be ready in few minutes. I told her that was fine but my bacon would be cold by then. I asked that the galette be served with bacon. She seemed personally offended. She took the plate and walked away without a word to me. Based on the prior poor customer-oriented response from the manager, her atttitude was not surprising. The galette and bacon was brought to me by the manager, Lester. Not a word was said about the delay, the inconvenience, nor the fact that my husband and I had come to have breakfast together, but were served several minutes apart. The food was fair, a little salty. The service is below par. We chose La Madeleines because is near our home in Champion Forest. Next time we will opt to go to our favorite breakfast spot, Le Peep's. It's worth the extra time and travel to the Westchase area for good food and much...
Read moreI don't live near this LaMadeline thankfully otherwise I would have to drive further to another one because I do not appreciate the manager Ingrid deceiving me and possibly other LaMadeline reward customers. I received an email that stated one free rewards chocolate item in the bakery for tax day, April 15. I tried to order the sacher tort cake and was told by Ingrid that it was only the chocolate chip cookie and eclair that was the free reward. I told her about the email and she played dumb. How could a manager not be aware of what the rewards were that La Madeline were offering. Never had this issue at any other location. I showed her my email which stated every single chocolate item in their bakery case, except the whole cakes. She got an attitude and told me to go ahead and get it. Wow. I left thinking perhaps she only wants to let the customers have the cheaper items but keep the more expensive chocolate items to sell. That's not what the email from LaMadeline corporate said. I noticed also on these reviews that a customer said a manager tried to charge them for a party of 10 rather than 6! Could this be the same manager I wonder?
Once you try and deceive me with your greed, you have proven I can't trust you. Beware future customers. Check your receipts and reward offer emails. Be a wise consumer because there are alot of greedy businesses out there. By the way, the sacher tort...
