Ordering ahead like you’re generally supposed to do doesn’t make a difference! I ordered my food at home and would be there by the “due,” time. I guess I set up myself for failure thinking they would have my food ready in less than 10 minutes. I waited in the drive thru for a good 10 minutes then was told to park at their “burrito pickup zone”-just to wait another 30 minutes. And then when I dug into my bowl, I realized they forgot to add the sauce (one of the reasons I choose this place). Read some of the reviews and seems like this is a thing (they neglect to add requested ingredients) at this place. The quality of meat isn’t what it used to be, the meat was pretty gamey and annoying to chew. Anyways, 1 stars.
My review above was from my prior visit and saved in my drafts
25 September 2024: I wanted to give this place another shot but was beyond disappointed..
I thought the drive thru window was for people who ordered ahead…(it used to be when it opened, guess they weren’t getting much business or something bc of this). Well, I chose “curbside,” and it stated I needed to get in the drive thru? Mind you, the drive thru was terribly long and there was no movement for more than 30 minutes. And ofc, the lady in front of me took at least 15 minutes trying to figure out what she wanted. Then they didn’t take her payment for another 10 minutes when she was at the window.
My food was said to be ready at 11:50 And I didn’t get to the window until 12:45
As for the food: they gave me brown pinto beans (I ordered black), brown pintos make me super sick! The food was cold and the sour cream’s consistency was like cottage cheese. They didn’t add the white rice, sautéed poblano, pico de gallo, cilantro, tomatillo sauce, jalapeños, lime juice, or the mango pico (I was craving this mango pico) that I requested in my steak bowl. Nor the side ancho rancho.
Soooooo messed up and disappointing.
According to the time stamp on the receipt stapled to the bag, my food had been out for almost an hour. My coworkers ordered nachos, and I felt so bad that they had soggy nachos.
$50 for a terrible experience and awful food.
And there’s no answer when you call either. So I highly recommend: Don’t order “pick up,” because it’s not what you think it is Don’t go during your lunch break Check your food before leaving the window (if you’re in...
Read moreThe steak quesadilla was pretty good. The tortilla was crispy, there was plenty of cheese and steak. However, it could have used some little portion cups of sour cream, pico de gallo, and salsa on the side to give extra flavor. I later found out that WAS supposed to come with it but we weren’t given any. Too bad we ordered in the drive thru and missed out on that after paying $14+ with tax on this quesadilla that was literally the same size as one from Taco Bell (although tasted way better of course, but still). I don’t think I’d feel good about paying $14 again for this, but $10-12 would be reasonable.
The chicken burrito would have been much better if it weren’t for the rice. I think it was brown rice and it tasted totally unseasoned and took away from the flavor of the burrito because there’s a lot of it inside so it neutralizes the surrounding flavors since it didn’t have any itself. Season your rice! Would have been helpful if they had actually given us sauce with it, but like with the quesadilla, we were shorted. And the burrito was $10+ with tax. I think $8 would be more appropriate.
Overall, the food was “fine” but was overpriced for what it was. The outside of the restaurant is cute, and we didn’t see what the inside was like. Service was obviously lacking based on all the missing items in the drive thru and the girl who took our order almost seemed like it was a bother for her to be working. But whatever. I just won’t be...
Read moreMy family and I have been Cabo Bob's regulars for about a year, but lately, things have gone downhill. It seems like things changed after the manager switched a couple of months ago. Let me give you a few examples: Three months ago, my daughter kids' quesadilla came with only FIVE chips! Seriously, five! We've always gotten a huge pile before – enough to almost hide the quesadilla. The cashier said that's how it's always been, but that's just not true. Then, two months ago, we ordered a kids' quesadilla and some adult meals. We got our food, but after two other customers who ordered after us. And guess what? The quesadilla was burnt! The manager (I didn't catch her name) insisted that's how they always make them. Burnt tortillas? Really?! She finally agreed to remake it, but only if we waited in line again during the dinner rush – no way! She just rolled her eyes and said we'd get it "soon," which took another 10 minutes. Today, I saw the same manager making the tortillas! I hoped she wouldn't remember us, but.... We ordered nachos and a kids' quesadilla. Still, we waited ages for the quesadilla – even after several people who ordered after us got their food. Guess what?! the tortilla was burnt. I'm a big believer in giving places three chances, but unfortunately, Cabo Bob's has lost a loyal customer. It's a real shame, because we really loved it before. Maybe things will improve, but for now, we're going to try...
