Fuhgedaboudit Bagel Company — Restaurant in Texas

I've been to many a place trying to find a perfect bagel like the ones I used to have in middle school, but I have yet to find it.

But--y'all. I finally found a great bagel place. A place that doesn't burn the bagel to a crisp and then expect me to gnaw on it. And I kind of want to scream it from the rooftops.

I've been to New York but did not have a bagel when I was there. I know-- missed opportunity. But I will take the word of the people who are from New York who say that this is the closest thing that they feel like they get up there.

There's no price difference for getting light cream or heavy cream cheese, so of course, I got it heavy. Heavy chives cream cheese on my jalapeno and cheese bagel was heavenly. But, personally, I would not do that again. Or I suppose I would-- but I would put my cream cheese on the side because of the warm cream cheese had my bagel slipping and sliding while I was driving and sneaking bites in. So if you're going to bagel and drive, get your cream cheese on the side.

That texture was perfect. It had the right amount of chewiness, and it was on the salty side. I prefer that, but I can see how it would be off putting to someone who doesn't like the saltiness.

I placed an order for delivery back in November. It has taken me this long to put into words how upsetting it was because I don't like leaving negative reviews. But I will not be ordering from this place ever again. My order was placed in the morning. I received the first communication that my iced latte was not in stock. Then the delivery service called to tell me they couldn't find my order. When the manager got on the call, he said they were short staffed and were not responsible for my order being given to another customer. I found that to be a poor excuse. My order was basically given to someone else. To say that they couldn't pay attention or that it was an oversight to a paying customer is a poor excuse of management. Then, I was informed that I had to cancel my order on my end, which was misleading since I could not. I later received a cancelation stating that the location could not fulfill my order. Very...

I've been wanting to try Fuhgedaboudit for a while because I love sandwiches and bagels. Knowing Houston bagels are pretty average at best, I prepared my expectations accordingly. I got the Hell's Kitchen, and wow, what a great sandwich. The bagel greatly exceeded my expectations, and the fillings were top quality. I went with the Asiago bagel and had it toasted. It had just the perfect amount of "chew". It was very filling. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. On my next trip, I plan to try the Chairman. The store was very clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. They close at 1, so it's breakfast and lunch only. I guess the last thing I need is a big sandwich like that...
