I received a response from the owner of Iguana Joe's. They offered to refund the price of my meal. I appreciate the offer. I did not take a refund. I did not post the review to receive anything free. I posted it because the quality of the food was not good. The food tasted good. But, when I go to Iguana Joe's, I expect great. For a 5 star it needs to be excellent to great taste, quality and service. To be 4-star it needs to be good to great quality, taste and service. For a 3 star, which is what my review was formerly, it needs to be average to good taste, quality and service. I am adjusting my review because I was mistaken that they no longer care about quality.

I received excellent customer service the night of my order and I consider the owner replying and wanting to make my experience better excellent. I do not want a refund. I want the meal made the way it was in my previous experience. The taste was compromised because of the quality. It was okay. Maybe even good. But, it wasn't great and it wasn't excellent. And, that is what I expect from Iguana Joe's. Thanks for your reply Iguana Joe's. It will definitely help me when I am deciding where to go out for Mexican food.

First review...

Okay, I give them 3 stars because the service was excellent. The order was correct. And, frankly, it tasted okay. Usually that would warrant at least a 4 star or maybe 5. But, the Queso Flameado today is NOT what it was 3 years ago. You can see in the pics that quality has not been continued over the years. I am very aware that the prices are higher because the cost to make it and keep the business open have gone up. In my opinion, quality should NEVER suffer because of inflation. I was charged much more today than I was 3 years ago. But, the quality is in seriously bad shape. I really hope you rethink your business model...

First, I had to wait for the 3 young girls to finish their conversation at the hostess desk before they were ready to assist us. But I can overlook that.

We wanted to eat outside on the patio (due to Covid) and to enjoy the cooler temps. The atmosphere isn't that great as you can hear all of the traffic, There is nothing to buffer the noise besides a wooden wall. A guy in a red shirt whose nametag read "Manager" assisted our table twice before a waiter in a black uniform took over. The manager in the red shirt came to our table to take our drink order after waiting for about 10 minutes. The drinks do come in a large glass, which is wonderful because you don't have to keep asking for refills so often. We ordered our food and most of the food was ok except for the waffle fries. They were ice cold. Sent them back and the hot fries were crispy and delicious. The service was incredibly slow, and even though our drinks were in large glasses, I needed a refill. We were there for about an hour 1/2 and the waiter came to our table maybe 3 times. Nobody ever replaced our chips and salsa, even though we asked. This review isn't really about the food, it's about the service. If you're looking for a place to go eat and be forgotten about, then this is the place for you! We are pretty easy going people. Maybe the place was understaffed, I don't know. But all 5 of us left very, very upset about the lack of attention that we received. We even had to search for and get our own to-go containers! That's all. I won't be visiting this...

Got lunch at about 1:30. Was take out. Frajita nachos the beef. At at 2:00. Worked til 4:30. Starting home I instantly started feeling very nauseous got home about 5:15. And immediately headed for the bathroom. Started vomiting. Food not even digested so heavy chunks. This went on til 4 the next morning. Watching time to see if I was going to be able to go to work. 12 hours of non stop vomiting. Same next day and then added the diarrhea which would just poor out. Changed clothes like 8 times That was Wed Nov 8. The 9 the all day diarrhea. Friday morning so sick could not hold water. Soda. My sinuses were draining and being thrown up. Down to only stomach acid and very hard and strong dry heaves for what felt like hours. Had to work Sat. I went to work and left after 15 minutes after going to restroom another 4! Times. Ammonium AD and nausea med had no effect. Never in my life have I ever experienced such sickness and nausea in all my days. Am I am 67 yrs old. It was Iquana Joes at 5710 E Sam Houston Prkwy N. Hope no one ever gets this. Not even my worst enemy. Pray it clears up by Monday. Already missed 2 days of work which I live pay ck to pay ck. So only got 24 hours this week. This is going to hurt me...
