So me and my god sister went to this Ihop... we were seated and everything was going ok... our waitress came and took our order... my god sister ordered her food and a cup of water with ice...... I ordered my food and wanted strawberries on my pancakes... waitress came with drinks first of course no ice in the water my god sister asked for and then she brings the food and no strawberries on my pancakes... needless to say you cant ask for anything extra cause clearly she had poor listening skills. Then as we are eating and in conversation a big group of young men (like teenage to maybe early 20's) come in together... I heard one of the waitress say they were some community group... one waitress suggest they sit at this long table in the front so the waitress sits them there and I hear the same waitress that suggested they sit there say "oh wait are they going to tip"... I was so put off by what she said... I couldn't believe it and didn't want to finish my food. So I got up walked over to the young men and introduced myself and through 20 dollars on the table and let the same waitress that made the comment know that the 20 dollars should cover there tip, and I told her I heard what she said and was so disgusted by that comment. I mean I understand the whole tip thing I have friends and family members who have worked in the restaurant industry however those type of comments should not be said on the floor in front of other customers. Wont be going back to...
Read moreThere was a comment about avoiding this place if you were not Hispanic or Mexican heritage that I would like to comment on. By typing Hispanic there is NO need to type Mexican. By typing Hispanic you are already covering all (or most) Spanish speaking countries. Is like saying Asian and Chinese heritage... You don't need to type Chinese since, again, Asian is already covering Japanese, Chinese or Vietnamese etc.
Okay, so I came today 1/1/20 and this place was full! 50% Hispanic, 40% Black (I would say African American but the guy behind me was from Kenya),10% Asian. So, as the minority group in IHOP (my whole white family which I thought we were the only only ones in there until I saw an older white couple in one corner eating), we were treated with the utmost respect and customer service like everyone else. Most of the staff were Hispanic. Their English was not perfect but it never bother is. I still understood what they said and they understood me so I had no problem. I got my meal so late! That's why I'm giving them 4 🌟. Why do you ask. Well, I got a $5 discount because of that reason. I was the only one on the table whose food was brought is... Late. But their customer service was excellent. Race was never an issue here. The person who wrote that comment about coming here and NOT being Hispanic, was probably unhappy about something else. Happy New Year's y'all or...
Read moreLast Saturday, late morning we had an incredible time! I chose to take my daughter and two of her little friends out for breakfast as a bit of an experience (they are COVID toddlers and one a baby born during). Therefore I just wanted to take them out as we create experiences for children, and also the nostalgia I remember my Mom taking me and my friend for that smiley face pancake! In many different cities! This day and this location DID JUST THAT! It was busy, super packed but service was AMAZING! All parties were being assisted with precision as each hostess was assigned to a table, but they worked as a team! Everyone nice, polite, quick with service! The food was delicious, though the girls didn't get the smiley face pancake, the got the French toast sticks that were also really good. My tacos were very tasty and filling! Most of all, Ms. Maida made the experience for us! Very professional, yet welcoming, very nice, engaged with the girls and myself! Personalized service that patrons appreciate! This location has an updated design inside since my last visit that very sleek, modern that I like and it was very clean which makes patrons feel comfortable eating out. 12/10, we'll definitely be back, might make it a regular thing, and next time she/they WILL get the smiley face pancake!
Thank you Ms. Maida and IHOP! Staple in my family for...
