2 stars for the customer service. I wanted to try the pork belly lechon on display by the grilling stand. I asked how it is sold, the old lady said its $9.99 per lb. It's a bit pricey but I want to give them the business and I want to try it. So I ordered 1/2 lb. As to my surprise, the old lady was getting my portions from a tray and NOT from the pork belly display laid on the chopping for everyone to see. I wanted her to get my order from that display. I believe is "freshly" cooked. I have not said a word yet to her. She then weighed my portion on their weighing scale which is NOT visible to the consumer. After she's done weighing (with no paper tape attached to show the exact weight, unit price & total price) , I asked her to open the container , as I wanted to see the portions. It looked dry and days old. I asked her politely if she can give me the meat from the display. I can tell she was not too happy, but she did it. However the guy who was grilling did not look thrilled as he has to walk back to the kitchen to get gloves (appreciate the sanitation issue tho) and cater to my request. The same lady in defense said to me, she has it cut early so it will be faster, but there was no line behind me. She did acknowledged that customers do assume it may be old because it came from a different container (of course). I would suggest the store should have their weighing scale visible and attached a receipt to show exact weight of the product sold.
But I admit, their pork belly lechon is amazing, it was perfectly cooked, very tender and juicy . It had the right herbs and seasonings. The skin was delightfully crunchy. I could have gone to a Chinese BBQ stall for half the price, but I can understand the difficulty and effort to make the Filipino lechon. So I will award you with 5 stars for the pork...
Read moreI want this place to do well so I will share what needs to happen. Better trading from the kitchen staff is an issue. If food is dropped on the ground, frozen or not, it should be thrown in trash. However, this was not the case when I went to eat breakfast just a few days ago. I literally saw one of the kitchen staff drop what appeared to be some sort of frozen fried item on the floor and then picked it up and put it back with the rest of them. Maybe if you were at home you could use the 5 second rule but when you're in a public restaurant, no absolutely not. I cannot give a high rating for food when I do not trust how the food has been prepared. Although it does taste very good, I still don't trust it. There's not much that can be done about the atmosphere due to the location, but the service is very friendly and helpful. Once again, I hope this place does well, but I do hope to see that the kitchen staff is better trained on how to appropriately...
Read moreI come here often and the food is usually really good but today I feel ripped off.The rice was gummy, the Pancit was dry and old and I asked for gravy on my meat and the server purposely just skimmed grease off the top and tried to pass it off as gravy like I wouldn’t know the difference . I called the manager, politely complained ,and told her I spent 47.00 there and she tried to insinuate I was lying and told me that entrees are only 10.99. I had to read my receipt to her and let her know I ordered sides too that’s why it came up to so much. Her only response was that she hasn’t received any other complaints. I will never visit here again . I wasted my money today and I was not trying to get a refund just some cooked rice , decent Pancit and gravy. :-( I’m about TO...
