La Reyna Tortilleria 1960 — Restaurant in Texas

I drove by this place the other day and figured I would give it a try without reading the reviews because I was in a hurry. BIG MISTAKE. I ordered 1/2 a dozen of pork tamales… another BIG MISTAKE. The mesa/corn flour was hard, discolored and stale. It was also super salty and microwaved. Krogers frozen tamales tasted better. Never the less I threw everything away after a couple bites. I should’ve threw it away when I saw the discoloration and smelled the bad meat. Shortly after my stomach began acting up. It was twisting and getting up almost immediately. I had food poisoning all day and night. Going to the bathroom and could not eat until the next day. I will never come back or recommend it to anyone. This place is ridiculous. Also, I asked for 1 salsa to eat with my 1/2 dozen tamales and they told my it would cost me 1.67 for a small container the size of a quarter. WTH. I was not asking for anything extra. Just ONE for my order. Who eats taco and tamales without salsa. I DO NOT recommend this place unless you want to be up all night vomiting and going to the bathroom. When today sunday 14,2024 order Two Large Menunos. Before ordering we Specifically told person to make sure they put meat or belly that the menudo has. Because last time we order Menudo it barely had any meat, just the juice.. when we got the order I checked one and I told my husband is fine but when we got home the second one bearly had any meat. We leave like 15 min away. So I call to complain telling her what had happened that I told them to make sure they put the meat not only juice. She took my number and told me she was going to call me back. Is been two hours and I have not received no call. Is a 32 Oz. Cup of menudo That they only put 4oz of meat they only give you oregano onion 1/2 lemon . No tortillas no cilantro no green jalapeños $11 and for them only to give me juice is ridiculous and still waiting on the call. We come here to get tamales and birria but this the second time eating the menudo. We are going to have to find a new place cause they can't even give you salga for your tamales. Very...

Food is good, salsas are great; however terrible customer service. Needed to order around 30 tacos for the office. (I order breakfast every friday), and needed them to be wrapped individually. Lady infront said she was going to take time doing them all because they just had opened, I was fine with waiting, her next excuse was that they only had chorizo and egg tacos, I was fine with that too, her next excuse said she didnt had enough foil wrapper to wrap them individually, and I pointed her 2 boxes I noticed in counter, her excuse was it was for something else. I walked out as she kept providing me absurd excuses to not take my order. Disappointed, took my business somewhere else where it will be welcomed....
