Palio's Pizza Cafe Hickory Creek — Restaurant in Texas

This review is long overdue from awhile back. We had always ordered from the Hickory Creek location via Door Dash, and the food was amazing. I was always told this was the place for great food and to get my Alfredo, because the sauce was so good. They were right! I remembered one time I thought it wasn't good, keep reading, the pizza was horrible and the Alfredo was not good, everything was salty too. Even the Canoli's were sorry looking, as they weren't even filled properly. The only think that was good, was the salad. We didn't want a refund, as we didn't want the Door Dash person to be penalized. I had told the Manager what happened and he apologized, offered me to come by for a free meal, but asked if I was sure I had the correct location to which I said we did, as we always ordered ftom there. He still extended the offer. Even though he couldn't find my order. To my horror upon close examination, I realized I did indeed order from the wrong Palio's! For some reason this other one popped up as my my option, without really being able to tell the difference until I validated the location it came from when he mentioned if I was sure, as I thought I was until he said that. I called the Manager back and profusely apologized for my error, as his restaurant was the only one I was currently ordering from consistently, but this other one popped up. He understood and appreciated me calling back and still extended the free meal offer to make up for the other restaurants bad food, knowing how much I loved his. I didn't take him up on his offer, I just appreciated his handling of everything. When I let the other Palio know what happened, they didn't care. Me and my friends sometimes come here to eat and study since it’s usually not a busy place and it has some quick access to food if we ever get hungry. My complaint here is not about the food, but how they treat their customers. Tuesday, September 16th of 2025 we were there for a couple hours to eat and study from 5:30 PM till close and never got told anything. On, Thursday we were going there again to study and we were planning to get food once our friend arrived, but what I believe was the owner or manager came up to us and told us if we were going to buy anything, and we said not right now. He then said we had to leave if we weren’t going to buy anything. We had told him that we’ve been there before because we always study and was never an issue till now, and he said that we needed to leave because If a larger family came in, then they would need the spot we were at, and I didn’t find it fair to kick us out when we were just waiting for our friend to meet us there so we could order. We’ve always come to study and even asked if it was okay to bring our backpacks for school and they said yes, but now it’s an issue? I literally just had my worst experience of my life with a resurant and me being a black man of 46 years ,this says alot. I ordered 3 pizzas for pick up ,with such good reviews online I did not bother to check the pizzas before leaving and paying what a huge mistake!!!!! My wife pizza was made incorrectly and the other 2 was over cooked and lacked freshest and toppings. I wasn't too upset so I just drove back 10 miles and asked for a refund, 1 of the 3 employees went and got a manager who looked at the pizzas acknowledged 1 was made wrong but said the other 3 was how he made them and he wasn't doing anything to make it better ,so he refused to make them over then threatened to call the police cause I stated no where on your website or in your store does it say no refunds. This cause his employees to laugh at me and they all seem to find my situation amusing. So I called the police who did absolutely not but say its a civil manner and also proceeded to treat me less than a person. I have no idea who reviewed this place before but im assume they was not of African Decent. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone !
