Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Texas

DO NOT GIVE SLIM CHICKENS YOUR BUSINESS. THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DECEPTIVE IN THEIR PRACTICES. We would normally take advantage of Slim Chickens Wednesday Chicken and Waffles special for $5.99. Out of convenience, we downloaded the Slim Chickens app so that I could place the orders over the app while my wife would go by the drive thru to pick up the order. I had the app linked to my credit card. Every Wednesday, we ordered four orders of the Chicken and Waffles and were charged $9.99 for each order, meaning $4 per order more than the special price. After having placed nine orders of the same 4 Chicken and Waffles meals, we noticed that we were not charged the $5.99 price. It took me three separate emails over about a month and a half just to get somebody from Slim Chickens to even respond. Today, their area manager informed me that they would not be refunding me the $144 we were overcharged because the Wednesday Chicken and Waffles special is only good if you order in the drive thru or dine in. This in not acceptable, is false advertising and deceptive. First of all, nowhere on the Slim Chickens app does it say that the $5.99 special price does not apply to app orders and, secondly, it makes no sense because we are placing the orders thru the app for convenience and at STILL PICKING UP THE ORDERS IN PERSON. How does that not qualify for the special price? If we were getting it delivered, then I would understand, but that’s not the case with us. Kept seeing the commercials for their new Crafted Chicken sandwiches, late night on Pluto TV. No judgment. Anyway, they looked really amazing and the commercial claims they're "cooked to perfection." Well I wasn't about to let that claim go untested so I tried them out on a rainy Saturday afternoon. When I'm trying new foods or new restaurants, I like to get a few things off the menu to really get an idea of how the rest of the menu "performs". I ordered three sandwiches, the chicken club, the buffalo ranch, and the classic chicken. All three were really cooked to perfection! Full of flavor, juicy but not dripping with grease. The buns were fluffy and flavorful as well. Now, even though they were all three delicious in their own right, none of them were particularly distinct from the other. That is to say, the $4.00 Classic was almost indistinguishable from the $7 Club and Buffalo Ranch. - I will definitely be back for another round of Craft Chicken Sandwiches, still need to try the BBQ chicken sandwich....but I think the next time I want a regular style chicken sandwich, I'll just order the Classic sandwiches and add things as I crave them; pickles, tomatoes, sauces, etc. - overall, Slim Chickens is legit!...

I hate to write this because I never review places. Don’t waste your money here! I came in by myself with my 5 month old in her car seat. I thought it would be an easy and quick meal, I was so wrong. I came in struggling to get the door open with my hands full. I went to the cashier and she didn’t even say hi or even acknowledged me. She had the drive thru headset on and was wiping down trays. Waited a few minutes before she looked at me not even asking what I wanted. I ordered a tender meal and I had to ask how many sauces it came with and after I ordered I didn’t even know the amount I owed her. I noticed that the dining room was empty with only 2 other families. One of which already had their food. Not to mention that most of the tables were dirty and the employee that was cleaning the tables was on her phone a good part of the time. It took 13 minutes for the food to come out which is terrible. The lady who ordered 5 minutes after me got her food at the same time as me. When I got my food the chicken was dry and way too small for being $10. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. There are too many better places than this...
