Tacos El Bigotes — Restaurant in Texas

We ate here today with my family to celebrate my sisters birthday. This is a place she frequently visits and after today I can see why. The place is large with many seats and very open.

First, lets go over the atmosphere. Everything looks bright and clean, you can see right into the kitchen and they have music and television on for a casual and fun vibe. Lots of parking is a major plus and even when the restaurant got busy it didn't feel crowded. Very spacious.

Next, the food. I had the horchata and it was so sweet, rich with cinnamon and tasted just like a desert! It went great with my order of gorditas which were made fresh and served hot. I used the salsa Verde and it added a good spiciness to my food which I was able to balance with the sweetness of my drink. My nephew had the birria plate and it looked amazing so I will be trying that the next time I come by. It was all so reasonably price, too!

Lasty, but not least, I want to talk about the service. The customer service was quick and friendly! Not only that they brought us a high chair when they saw we had a toddler with us and then a sling to accommodate our baby niece. My party was large but they had no problem with us pushing 2 tables together. Spectacular service, they came and got plates off the table as we finished eating and never made us feel rushed and at the very end when I was carrying back the high chair the gentleman at the counter stopped what he was doing to help me put it up. You just don't see service like this anymore!

5 stars to this restaurant, me and my family will back again and again. Cannot recommend it...

Let me start by saying I work in the hospitality industry. I know the customer is not always right but at the end of the day they are the customer. After eating parillada mixta, and 2 agua frescas, my girlfriend and I had some leftovers to take home. We kindly asked one of the employees for some to go boxes. He brought them out, and we asked for one container for the beans and rice. They brought two small deli cups so I put about 2 ounces of green salsa in the extra container. The employee that brought the first set of to go boxes came over and asked if we put salsa to go in the container, and we replied yes. He then shook his head in disgust and said “we charge extra for salsa but it’s cool.” At this point I’m fuming mad because you came over to my table to ask if I am taking salsa home after I just spent $50 on my lunch and tipped accordingly? On top of that you did it with an unwelcoming attitude? I was embarrassed and quite frankly confused that a reputable establishment would condone this kind of customer service. It made me and my girlfriend feel very unwelcome. To make such a big deal over salsa was ridiculous. I also never take the time to leave a review unless an experience really moves me. I came into this restaurant and ordered my food at 4pm. There was no wait and only 2 other people in the restaurant, one eating and one just finished eating. The cashier said it would be about 5 minutes for my torta (sandwhich). So I sit down make a couple calls. A line has started to form. When I get off the phone it’s 4:20. I still don’t have my food. I go to the front skipping the line because I have work at 430 and I need to know what’s the hold up. People that came in well after me received their food. I even offered for them to keep the money and just give me a credit or something and I’ll come back another day to pick up. Long story short I never got my food. Not only that but I was met with attitude from one of the female workers. Who then took even longer to give me my refund. She didn’t say a word to my I wasn’t even sure she was processing the refund until she thrusted my change in my face. Btw I paid with card she gave me back cash. I didn’t receive an apology for wasting my time not having my order ect. Mind you I only ordered a torta which is a sandwhich. I’m truly disappointed because the food that I did see come out looked great. Do better...
