The workers, though young & inattentive, were absolutely incredibly sweet & kind. The atmosphere was super clean.
THE FOOD - absolutely horribleā¦..Iām so sorry but The food was not seasonedā¦.AT ALL! The onion rings are overly battered with no pinch of salt or pepper. The fried shrimp & fried catfish lacked flavor & were overcooked.
The potential of this place is massive, all the right makings. But the food is the blandest Iāve had in years.
Recommendations: -Young workers may require a shift lead - one of which is not their peer, but someone with food industry and leadership experience. This position should be one of responsibility and budgeted properly for. They should serve in the manager/owners absence if need be but fall lower on the chain of command -monthly evaluations of processes - are there work flows that can be streamlined: cashiers vs waiters is the difference serving a true purpose or wrecking havoc on service time, the lines and causing confusion? Implement a PDSA cycle on this -proper training of wait staff: this should not be done by the owner or managers who are too far removed from the task (over 4 yrs since having waited on customers). Make training engaging and interactive AND retain good talent by encouraging growth in skills and within the org. -food offerings: what is the corporate recipe for your food, are the cooks following this? If at owner/managers discretion choose 2-3 items each quarter to experiment given constraints of food safety regulations, look at the consequences as it pertains to your profit/demand per item. Implement a customer satisfaction survey (in house) to further assist in analysis and reasoning of the details - what do the result imply? -longevity: might your road to success be cut short given the result of Porters 5 Forces analysis? What do you control and how can you mitigate these forces given your most valuable resource(s)? What is your most valuable resource?
Regain your passion. Do food right and take Spring/Tomball by storm. Until then, sadly I rate 1 star...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHello, just thought to make the restaurant aware of some discrepancies I had and this is also for anyone curious of my thoughts. To start this off, I love Willie's; I've been coming here for years. That said, the service was amazing, but some of the food was lacking. I had a large catfish platter and fried mushrooms. The fried mushrooms came out fast and tasted great! The catfish then came out not too long after. The catfish came with fries, coleslaw, tarter sauce, and a cocktail sauce. The coleslaw was shredded too thin and kind of tasted old with a yellow coloration. Though I know people aren't really a fan of coleslaw and might sub it out hence it being a little old. Though the person that shredded the cabbage should focus on not shredding it to bits like your soon to be ex's photo because then it makes the coleslaw a cold soupy mess. Moving forward, the tarter sauce also had almost the same tinge of yellow as the coleslaw and tasted off. I'm not sure how to place the taste, but maybe it's just a different ingredient in the tarter sauce or it too is old. The lemons also served with the catfish were old and pretty "squishy" for lack of a better term. However, the catfish was it's normal consistency. Again, the service was amazing and the atmosphere is always nice. I hope the kitchen is made aware of my review, and to anyone in need of some of the best fried mushrooms, in my humble opinion, please go to Willie's! Update- It is currently 9pm and I've been experiencing stomach issues...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNormally coming here was great. Today we sat down and after 15 minutes of no one helping us I got up to add to my order an appetizer. After about another 15 minutes a waiter came by and asked if we have been helped. Informed him no and that I went and asked a while ago for the appetizer so he went and checked it out. When he brought it to our table he then said our food was sitting and ready to bring to the table. Asked him to go ahead and bring it. Both meals were cold and were not the normal quality that we have gotten multiple times before. After a while I had to go up front and ask for a to go box for our kids dinner. After 5 minutes the waiter came and asked if we need anything and I asked for the check. They waived the appetizer and he apologized stating that our waiter left without saying anything. The table that sat right behind us after we got there was helped within 5 mintues of them arriving.
Normally I would give a 1 star review, but we have gotten great service there the multiple other times we have gone.
We don't see ourselves going back anytime soon after the quality of the food and the Non existent service.
I have waited tables in my passed and with a buddy system this should not happen. Multiple workers there passed our table and saw us looking around and never...
