I come to The Toasted yolk quite often because I love their food! My last visit is making me question if I'm ever going to go back. To start I showed up me and my son we were still waiting on two people I told them I needed a table for four the host asked me if everybody was here I told them two more are 5 minutes away she told me she could not see us until the whole party arrived. Yes I got a little irritated because I work in the food industry and I could see if we were a large party but it was only four people she would not see us. Standibg by the front door it was freezing because it was when the weather was very very cold. Every time the door would open it was like a burst of freezing cold wind on us so I told them it was unacceptable and that I wanted a table and I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager told me that that was their policy I still kind of argued with her because like I said my other people were 5 minutes away and it was freezing at the front. She told me then I could only sit down if I ordered for the whole table which I agreed to which is also ridiculous. We sat down and the other two joined us probably 3 minutes later. The whole time we sat there waiting for our food every time I looked at the host stand they were all glaring at me I guess because I spoke up. We did wait a little longer for our food I was okay with that because we had good company. When we got our food I ordered the BLT with fries my fries were cold. If I'm going to spend $15 on a sandwich I don't think it's too much to ask for hot fries. I asked the server very nicely if I could get some hot fries she seemed a little irritated but that's her job. 10 minutes goes by and I still don't have fries I had not touched my sandwich because I wanted to eat my fries and sandwich together she finally comes over and asked if she could have my old fries mind you I still don't have the new ones yet. I'm thinking to myself if you were just going to throw them back in the fryer you could have done that 10 minutes ago because that's how long I had been waiting. So I gathered up all my fries with my hand and put them on a plate for her she came back 1 minute later with hot fries I'm sure they threw them back in the fryer. I am a server and I would never treat my tables like this. Little does she know too I get tip happy because I am a server. I still tipped her over what I was supposed to but like I said I don't know if I will be going back I felt very...

The Toasty Yolk Café in Spring, Texas is conveniently located right off 99 with plenty of parking—always a plus! What I loved most about this spot was how easy it was to settle in and enjoy a relaxing breakfast while connecting with a friend. We even managed to discuss potential collaborations, and I ended up securing a gig, so now I’m calling Toasty Yolk my new go-to spot for casual business discussions!
Now, onto the food! I’m a big fan of green tea, and their tea is fantastic. It’s not your typical tea bag, but rather real green tea leaves that brew perfectly. The server brought extra honey and water without me having to ask, which made my experience so much more enjoyable. The refills were timely, and I was able to sip and relax without interruption—definitely a plus, plus, plus in my book.
For breakfast, I had the French toast—crispy and delicious, with the perfect crunch. The hash brown casserole was flavorful, and I loved that they offered real shell eggs—a rare find these days. It’s the little things that make a big difference! However, the sausages were a bit of a letdown for me. They tasted like frozen patties, which wasn’t what I was expecting from a place like this. They were still good, just not the fresh-cooked kind you’d find at other breakfast spots.
The atmosphere was lovely—quiet, cozy, and perfect for conversation, even though it was busy. Our server was friendly and patient, allowing us to catch up without feeling rushed. The booths were very comfortable, making it easy to settle in for a while. While I didn’t think to ask at the time, I did notice they don’t offer warm syrup, which is something I’ve gotten used to at other places, but it didn’t take away from the experience.
There’s also a bar area for those dining solo or looking to meet new people, which is a nice touch. Even with a crowd, the place felt calm, and the laughter from other tables was a nice backdrop.

Read moreI really wish I could say the service was just as good as the food, but it was not. I arrived about 9:10am Saturday. The place was very busy but was able to be seated immediately upon arriving. I observed the place was full of families. It was just myself and another guest. After ordering our food arrived in a timely manner 12-15 mins. We ate our food and now wanted to sit and catch up. Obviously, not gonna be talking with our mouths full. Shortly after we were done the waiter brings our check and says “no rush” oh we felt rushed! Shortly after paying she came by about 10:15am and asked if there was anything else we needed? I said no we are ok thank you. And then proceeded to say that there were other people waiting and that this was “a business” so I asked if she was suggesting we leave? She said well no but there are others waiting. Again. This is a business “ do you need us to leave?” Felt her give a little bit of attitude and walked off. I was so shocked that I could not sit and chit chat with my friend and catch up. I mean this is a place where mimosas are served for god sake. So if you’re trying to have a girls brunch look elsewhere. Oh best part was the manager was called and she basically said the same thing just a little more politely. I mean if there is a time frame for the table or a limit of time you should include that on your menu or have a sign up. I know if I came in with my family I’m gonna be there about 2 hours getting my family’s meals ordered and settled. If I wanted to eat fast I would have just gone to a fast food restaurant, not a DINE IN. I’m not the one to put reviews but I was very disturbed and really ruined my morning. Hate to say I won’t be going back. Well at least not to...
