I have ordered take out twice and both times my order has been wrong. For the second time they don't want to make my entire order, they offer to give me a credit for the next time but that doesn't work for me because there will be no next time because of the bad attitude of the owner. Plus I had to drive back to get my refund even though he made sure my order was wrong. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.
Having to obtain a credit for the next time and eating cold is not an option for any client, less so for those who frequently go to a restaurant. From the beginning we asked that they make us the complete order again because we don't want to eat cold, as the owner didn't want to, we asked for the complete refund. My boyfriend, when he went to pick up the order, asked the owner if he made sure that the food was not spicy and he replied that it was not spicy. We told you guys to make sure the food wasn't spicy because it happened once before and this time we weren't going to eat cold food like last time. We will not eat cold again. The worst thing is that you lost two customers who often went to eat there. We looked for another restaurant nearby, it's called Asian Chef, I recommend them, good service, good food, they prepared our order well, the egg rolls are excellent. They gained...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe ambiance is quiet, but simple. As far as the food is concerned, they do use fresh ingredients. This stood out particularly with the texture of the vegetables in the dishes my family ate. Dinner can seem a bit expensive for a Chinese restaurant, but the portions are commensurate with price.
We ordered the following:
Chicken Lettuce Wraps- they use romaine for the wraps, which was nice. I personally felt that there was too much celery flavor in the chicken. While the ingredients were fresh and solid, the wrap filling seemed a little too much like something I could whip up at home.
If you are used to mainstream versions of lettuce wraps, you won't be served that here. I prefer the salty version you get at Pei Wei and PF Chang's.
Sweet and Sour Pork- I thought the pork was good. Not too much batter, and it was nice and crispy. My wife felt the pork was too crispy, however. The sauce is decent, though pedestrian.
Orange Beef- I couldn't decide if I liked the sauce. It is a little heavier and darker than I am used to. The beef was battered and fried perfectly, though.
As with every other American-Chinese restaurant, the rice sucked. No surprise there. I would eat at Yumi Cafe again, but just because it is convenient to where I live. I would not drive more than 20 minutes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been ordering food from here ever since they opened. I usually order a dinner with fried rice, soup, egg roll and entree but tonight I tried the House Special fried rice. VERY DISAPPOINTING. There was 4 battered shrimp on top of a container of rice with about 5 small pieces of chicken and about 8 or 10 tiny piecs of beef mixed in. No veggies, no eggs, no sprouts. There was absolutely NOTHING "special" about this rice. I called the restaurant after opening and seeing this and all the guy had to say was "sorry", which didn't sound sincere at all. I expected more because the other item I usually order is very good. The fact that the employee didn't care about my disappointment says alot to me.
Dear Yumi Cafe employee, clearly you didn't read my review. I said I usually order something else but tried the fried rice THIS time. I'm not the only person who has reviewed the fried rice and didn't like it. I have no reason to lie about anything. If I don't like it, I don't like it. That's what reviews are for...the customer's opinion. And for the record, your establishment wasnt even there, as a matter of fact, it was just land there when we moved to the area in 2005. Thank you...
