I used to love eating at Chipotle, but I have totally stopped going to any locations because they are not even close to as how they used to be.
I used to love fajita burritos and ordered at least once a week. Steak with extra, sour cream, cheese, and usually white rice with the fajita peppers. It was not authentic, but was big, very good, and hot.
After a few years, they totally changed to horrible in all ways. Since 4 years after they initially opened, they charge ridiculous prices for a pathetic amount of meat, making the burritos the size of tacos! They used to load up the meat, now the burritos have a small spoonful of meat. Want extra? They charge $2.00 and you still end up with a pathetic amount of meat. One time at a Chicago location I literally had 5 pieces of meat on my burrito, but a ton of rice and sour cream. I tried a few other locations, thinking the issues might be isolated. Nope! Then I simply quit going to any and better off now!
The customer service has gotten really bad. A lot of the employees are too busy talking to each other, even with long lines. More often than not, your food is cold by the time you sit to eat it. A lot of the employees are rude and if you complain about anything, they look at you like you are crazy or try arguing with you instead of working with you to fix your complaint. Complaining about the size of the burritos and the meat has always caused me to be told, "We have always made burritos like this!" at every location. Umm, no...if you did I would have never returned after my first time trying it! I felt ripped off every time I went there ever since they were open for about 4 years. Look at the pics of the burritos in the ads, that is how they used to look. If your burrito is decent size, 95% of it will be rice and 2% meat if that.
The waiting at Homewood is very bad, expect to be in line 10 minutes plus if they are slow and 20 minutes plus if they are busy. You will kill your lunch break trying to get food from here.
They use a trick too, they load your dish with rice, cheap out on the meat, put way too much sour cream. During the hand offs, often the next person handling your food is talking or doing something else besides making your food. It is always after the rice, meat, and salsa has been put on your dish. Then you wonder why your food is cold! Then to add insult, they put way too much sour cream which is cold as well. One time the girl that was putting the meat was goofing around with the girl who puts the cheese and sour cream, instead of making my food while doing so. This is with a long line behind me, mind you. My burrito tasted like they took it out of the refrigerator by the time I sat down! My burrito (read: glorified taco) was nasty, dis-proportioned, cold, pathetic, and expensive. Complaining did get me a new burrito, so now it was the same as before, just slightly warmer, still a little cold! So they make a killing off of you, more important than giving you good food quality.
Cleanliness of the place has gone downhill as well. Often the staff leaves tables messes, sweeps while you are eating, does not clean the bathrooms on time, and the soft drink area is a mess.
Why would you eat here when you can get a huge burrito from an authentic Mexican place, which will be huge, much better tasting, hot, and with little to no hassle? Places like this thrive only because a lot of the public does not know authentic food and just because the place is trendy and supposedly "organic, non-GMO". I will take my hard earned money elsewhere and never recommend Chipotle to anyone.
The Homewood location was my go-to location for a long time. It is cleaner than most, but the same issues with price, food quality, staff, and coldness/pathetic size while charging a premium exists here. Now I order authentic food every few days and pay less for much better food and no watered-down drinks. If you like to pay a premium for stale chips, small amount of food for triple the price, and watered down...
Read moreLong wait on 4.1.21. I arrived at 8:30pm and was serviced about 9:05pm- which I can get over. I’m a pretty patient person. However the rude treatment (described below) is inexcusable and unfair to customers.
Receiving the orders for condiments, no name tag but described as a African American young woman, wearing a grey checkered face mask. From the moment she began helping me her demeanor, tone and body language was EXTREMELY RUDE ( I noticed this with other customers as well). A total shift from the guy starting the bowls (later found out he was the manager). I asked for lettuce and her reply in a VERY nasty tone “we ain’t got none” then she just looked at me.... I asked if they were getting more or was it out for the evening or...? Again she repeated “we ain’t got none” then she just looked at me, no reply, no attempt to accommodate, substitute, nothing. I ask if I could have some of the salad lettuce? Once again no reply just rolled her eyes. I guess the guy heard me ask because in between starting orders he reached over and grabbed some salad lettuce for me and she just aggressively slide my bowl down the counter toward him. I then proceeded with my next bowl. I asked for corn and she “dropped” it down on the bowl (if you can picture someone upset making your food - that’s the demeanor). She then just looked at me as if she was irritated, I actually believe that was her way of “asking” what other toppings I’d like?!?!? So I proceeded to ask for red sauce and guacamole on the side. She barked back “we ain’t got none”, once again in an irritated tone. So I asked was everything ok? She barked back NO! I said well it’s ok to have someone else help me if you’re no well; but it’s not ok for you to treat me this way or toss my food around. She rolled her eyes, never acknowledged what I said closed my lids and walked away to the next customer. The cashier ended up finishing my order. She gathered the items I originally asked for on the side.
I asked the cashier for the server name and she just chuckled but never gave me the name. I asked for the manager and she pointed and said “well he’s our manager” ( referring to the male server who starts the orders). I told her I’d wait, she proceeded to check me out and moved on to the next customer. Never further acknowledged my request. I stood there for a minute. I never received the young lady name nor did the manager come by. There was a closing line, so I decided to not be a bother and just contact him after closing and write a complaint. I’m big on service and kindness. I literally watched this chipotle be built and have been a long term customer. I’ll likely never spend my...
Read moreHad an online pick up order under the name Martin D. Unfortunately the food was incorrectly made.
I had two bowls. The first bowl was extremely light….. I had 1/2 chicken and 1/2 steak, I did not get the correct portion or size on my bowl at all!!
I do measure and scale the weight of the bowl and it’s very inconsistent to what the website says and promises its customers.
My second bowl was missing the guacamole that I paid extra for.
Upon picking up my order, I placed my order to be picked up at 3:10pm but came in at 3:13pm but I noticed the food had been already ready.
When I got back from work, the food was very cold….
There was four employees. No one acknowledged me at all or said hello. They all looked annoyed. The younger one took forever to even respond to me or notice me.
She had a very annoyed attitude when I asked for some vinaigrette sauce.
The service sucked!
The vibe was off. So was the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was dead quiet and felt very dreadful to be in there.
I’ve placed orders from this location a couple times before since my job is only 13 minutes away.
But let me just say, their portions were very small compared to what I had last time. So whomever was portioning those scoops need to seriously stop trying to scam people out of their money.
Chipotle is not cheap! Very expensive to what I am paying for.
I will make a follow up complaint.
The owner and manager of this establishment really need to get their staff In order.
I don’t care if there’s an economic downturn. Stop trying to scam customers out of the portion sizes. They’re have been getting smaller and smaller.
Also they didn’t add enough sour cream to my order. I specifically asked for extra sour cream. There wasn’t enough cheese at all. Not enough pico de gallo and corn and all toppings.
I asked for 1/2 rice and 1/2 brown rice. Gave me all white rice instead.
I am considering reaching out to the city of Homewood and filling a complaint to get an...
