It is unfortunate that I have to leave such a low review. I used to go to Hot and Juicy crab and Tinley Park which changed to Saucy Crab new Owners. When I heard they were opening one near me in Homewood I got excited. When it 1st opened up my husband and I went during our anniversary weekend. The waitress who helped us was very good and honestly she made the experience enjoyable. She went over, above and beyond in service she even brought out a slice cake for us. When my husband was not too happy with his drink she refunded it and brought back a different one on the house. So I decided to go back yesterday for a second time but with my daughter. A month later. When we walked in we were not really greeted we stood there for a minute. When we were seated we had to wait almost 10 or 15 minutes before the waiter finally came around. We ordered our food and drinks. It took forever to come out. The one pound seafood bag did not feel like a pound at all. The crab legs were very thin and skimpy. It wasn't even hot. The waiter forgot to bring out our bib and napkins and bucket and we sat there 5 minutes trying to get his attention. My Bahama Mama drink tasted horrible. I only had 2 sips. I told him I did not wanted it and they could take it back. I would just drink water. They told me I had to keep the drink or order something else. I picked a different drink which was of lesser amount. They told me I would not get a refund or a difference in price. This 2nd drink was not good at all. I didn't drink it at all. Whoever worked the bar was obviously not a mixologist or a bartender. The total came to $125 but this included one advertiser of gator bites. Plus 2 drinks and a service fee or gratuity already added of 20%. Not even worth $40 to me. Never again...
Read moreThe food itself is pretty good but I personally would not go back. I’ve eaten here twice. The first order was “to go”. I ordered the royal platter. The platter was supposed to come with three lobster tails - I received one. Of course, the restaurant wanted me to come back up there with the food and they would remake it but I wasn’t offered a refund. I decided not to go back up there since I don’t live close by and it wasn’t worth my time. The second time, I dined in. My server was really nice and friendly but once again, my food was missing several components. I ordered the weekend special which was supposed to include crab and shrimp. I also added on boiled eggs, sausage, mussels and crawfish. I received a bag with broccoli, crab and sausage only - I didn’t order broccoli and I pointed this out but it’s not like I am allergic to it, I just didn’t order it. I asked the waiter about the other items and there was a ton of confusion due to his managers “process”. He could clearly see the shrimp, crawfish, eggs and mussels were all missing but it took them about twenty minutes to figure out they needed to add the items to my order. Then they said they would need to take my food back as part of policy but then decided not to. Anyways, at the end when I got my bill, I was charged for everything of course but in addition was charged for broccoli and corn. Also, the gratuity was already added to the bill, and I was informed that the “gratuity” doesn’t even go to the server - the owners take it directly, which is so messed up. The server worked really hard to provide great service and the kitchen messed up yet they are taking the gratuity from the staff. I was definitely not happy with my experience and I won’t be back. There are way too many other places with better...
Read moreBe careful eating here. Today was my first time trying this location and I was served crab legs that smelled of heavy ammonia. At first I thought I was mistaken but upon trying a bite I tasted the ammonia and well as my throat started to burn. I hurriedly spit the food out and called the resturant back who told me to bring the food in. I hadn't been in my home more than 20 min before having to return to this place. Owner took my bag into the back and came out trying to tell me that with dungeons crab that smell is normal. I have been eating seafood all my life, of all types a varieties and one thing I KNOW, is that good seafood does not taste nor smell of ammonia. He offered to replace my crab with snow crab but at that point I had no reason to trust these people who couldn't even be honest about their mistake and just offer an apology, but who instead lies to me as if serving spoiled food is normal. HELL NAW! give me my money back and I will never return to this location. (Which luckily the owner did without a fight) I am actually sitting across the street in jerk n go's parking lot writing this review because I am that astonished at the lack of self awareness, and the nerve of this place. YOU ALL NEED TO BE CAREFUL BEGORE YOU...
