I don't eat a ton of fast food, but was in the area & saw Dairy Queen, so went through the drive-through for a chicken finger basket & blizzard. I think there might have been only one person working. He took my order & I pulled up to the window. I waited about a minute & he came to the window with my blizzard, took my payment, then asked me to park in the #1 waiting spot. After waiting there several minutes & long enough for about 2-3 other cars to get their food & leave, he brought out my food & I went home.
First thing I noticed opening the box was that they're no longer chicken fingers, but chicken nuggets. I opened my little cup of ranch & dipped the first one. Immediately I had to smell & dip my finger to taste-test the ranch. It passed both, but it had a kind of lumpy texture I'm still not sure about.
I grabbed a slice of the toast & it was actually bread SOAKED in whatever butter product they use on it. Took another look into the box of disappointment & grabbed a couple fries. I used to say Dairy Queen had the best fries. They did not look like the fries I remembered, & definitely didn't taste like them either.
I finished what I could of the chicken & took the rest to the trash bin for the raccoons. By that time I'd forgotten about the blizzard I put in my freezer to get out cold again.
I'm not sure if some of this was a one-off because they were short on staffing, but they've definitely changed sourcing from what I remember. Quality of everything was BAD. I guess I should say that the two bites of blizzard I took while waiting for my food seemed pretty good, & the guy at the window seemed to be doing his best & was nice. The meal was a good reinforcement to stay away...
Read moreIt took 20 minutes from the time we placed our order (a Blizzard and a brownie sundae) to receive it. About 10 minutes into waiting an employee asked what we had ordered and, after telling her, she continued to take other people's items to them. This is when I watched one of the people making Blizzards lick his ungloved thumb, then continue making other ice cream treats. Eew. When the first employee noticed we were still waiting 5 minutes later, she told us that she would go tell "them" to make our orders. After another 5 minutes our orders finally came out. The ice cream for the sundae was mostly melted and half the portion it should have been (they were having trouble with an ice cream machine that was popping), and the Blizzard was wrong (cashier's fault, not kitchen). When we finally received the correct item, we mentioned to the employee (the 3rd employee we had contact with at this point) that it had taken 20 minutes, she replied with, "Aww." Guessing she didn't realize we thought that to be too long, we clarified that it was a really long tor wait for ice cream, to which she responded, "Well, I just got here." I understand that these are teens working here, but basic customer service skills and food safety training are lacking, which reflects poorly on the entire establishment. Name tags would have made it much easier to identify employees, as a side note and a pet peeve after working in the food industry. Will definitely be...
Read moreI like this place a lot. Compared to the other eateries in a 2 mile radius, DQ is the best of them. HOWEVER, I did find a damned hair in my chocolate sundae the other day. It did not appear to be human, I think it was either cat or dog hair. It was very fine, thin and light in color. Small and kinky like dog or cat hair, not like human.
I suspect it belongs to an employee's pet. How else could it get stuck to my ice cream, inside the plastic cover.? I suggest you ask your employees to check their uniform before showing up for work, or have them do one of those brush things that stick to animal hair.
I found a hair in a chicken bowl at taco bell on 104th and will not go back to that store dur to a series of non-stop screw ups on the menu and what I got delivered to me. YOUR store, however, has not been a problem until now and I have vowed not to go back to those other stores. Yours, however, is an exception. I will return but I do hope to never find another hair in my food. We good??
ALSO: Too many times, we have showed up and ordered a soft drink with our meals and your ice machine was out of order. I paid for the warm drinks but could not drink them. Please buy a new(er) ice machine for this store or let people know BEFORE they get stuck in line at your drive up window. You are starting to act just like all the other stores in this area....
