Very poor service! I just got off work and didn’t want to have drinks downtown and drive all the way up to 136th and Colorado. So I decided to try palookas. I walk in and already the lady is asking me if I am ok if I had been drinking or on drugs or something. I looked at her and said “I just got off work, I drive for a living”. She glared me down and said “fine” in a tone. She poured me a drink and charged me $8.50 for a double vodka coke. That’s a lot. While I was sitting at the bar she never asked if I am going to have another or even glanced my way. When I was finishing she did glance at my cup and it was almost empty. She grabs her cigarettes and goes outside and smokes. I sat at the bar waiting for 10min and decided “ya know, this is not worth my time” and as I was walking out she said “aww leaving so soon” with a smirk on her face, she didn’t want to serve me another drink. You could see that in her face. She was flirting with some older guy and she didn’t want to be bothered by the likes of me. Very disappointed because silver bullet across 120th is a lot crappier and cheaper. Thought this bar was going to be ok. There is only a few here in short driving distance...
Read moreI had fun and the music was good. However, after giving the bartender my card to run a tab for the evening, I was told they didnt have my card when I was ready to leave. Even after me and my friend insisted they did. And when we tried to tell another bar tender, she proceeded to tell the other bar tenders that they did not have my card. I ended up leaving without access to cash as I'm from out of town. I called the next day when they opened and just like I said, they had my card. I realize people make mistakes but it was the unmistakable look of irritation on the bartenders face as if we were getting on her nerves when I was the one who should have been irritated. When I returned the next day, I had to put my day on hold til they opened and waste my time coming back to retrieve my card, there was no sorry...
Read moreI walked in during my lunch break craving a cocktail. Like all dive bars, it has to be a dark den because alcohol makes you sensitive to light.
I sit and ask the bartender if he had a drink menu, he replies "this is a dive bar sweetie". Great, already patronizing me. I was tempted to ask if all those flavored liquors bottles on the wall were just for show then. Whatever, I ignored that and asked for a drink no bartender can mess up. Tequila with pinneaple juice an a splash of seltzer.
He brings me this drink that was clear, no way pinneaple juice is clear. The seltzer was flat. The drink was terrible. I told the bartender it was flat and he responded with "Is there any other drink I could make you?" He couldn't even handle the first. I walked away, never to return to the non welcoming Palookas....
