Mucho Bueno Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Thornton

Short version: Delicious, quality food, served by lovely and attentive staff, at a fair price! Eat here! Long version: A friend and I stumbled on this gem! we were looking for a place to eat we could not find, and boy am I glad! This is some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten outside of Mexico. We entered a bit skeptical having never been here or heard anything, but the staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. The restaurant was clean and comfortable filled with happy families dining. We we immediately seated and given menus. Everything looked amazing but we settled on red tacos with lamb and combo fajitas with a tamale on the side. We shared everything and I am so happy we did. I will drive the 30-40 min to this side of town again for those lamb tacos!!!! AMAZING! Tender, mouthwatering, deliciousness like I have never had. The fajitas found every meat seasoned and cooked to perfection, the beans and rice with them were so good too! Instead of an afterthought the refried beans were delicious! Last night was my fourth time at Mucho Bueno over a period of about 2 years. I have always loved their food before, but this time was a little different. I had the carnitas for the first time, and I'm not really sure whether it was the carnitas themselves or the frijoles refritos, but everything was sweet. It seems like they had added sugar to one or both of those items. The salsa also tasted much sweeter than I remembered it from prior visits. Please don't add sugar to dishes that don't need it. My leftovers today actually tasted like baked beans. The service was wonderful, and the place is very clean and nice. My husband loved his chuletas de puerco. His only comment was that it needed heat--everything we had, including the green chile, was bland. We will go back again, but I will not have carnitas again, will test the beans by themselves, and will ask whether they can make the green chile hotter. I was looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant for my family to have dinner at and this one was highly rated, so I took my family there to eat dinner. The decor, music and restaurant was was great but once the food came out and we started eating, unfortunately it wasn't what I was expecting at all. The birria tacos not good at all, I could have went to a taco truck and got better, the mexican hamburger was barely ok. The picture of the mexican hamburger looked a lot better on the menu.
