Honestly , I’m not sure why this place has such overwhelmingly good reviews.. the drinks (I get the spicy watermelon) are good, they do a good job with them and they are always pretty good. But the food is just… for a lack of a better word , weird . Today was my second delivery from them. The first time , I got the carne fries , popcorn chicken, spicy watermelon drink, and xxxtra flaming hot elote. Sounds great , right? The carne fries were awful, the fries in general are actually awful. Steak was actually quite good, but couldn’t save the fries from the dry toppings and the skinny fry consistency in general. The popcorn chicken has a very strange almost chinese-American style chicken taste and it’s just not what I expect when I’m ordering popcorn chicken, it’s very sweet and I can only handle so much of that when it comes to chicken , especially if I’m getting it as a snack. The elote — I honestly have no complaints. A little skimpy on the mayo so it comes a bit dry . Also , when you want to get it delivered to you, it only gives you the option for a “bowl” up charge when it comes to the size of the elote, however , this is the second time I’ve gotten a CUP of it , not a bowl. I don’t understand upcharging $2 to make a $7 cup of elote if they can’t make it a bit bigger (given you have no option to avoid the up charge, atleast on Uber eats) . My second time ordering was today, and I’m honestly disappointed. I got the same spicy watermelon drink, but this time also got the “garlic noodles” , chicken tenders, and a “bowl” of elote. The drink is good, as always. The garlic noodles are just like lo mein with a weird sweetish taste. When I ordered garlic noodles I didn’t quite expect it to be so Chinese lo mein like. The chicken tenders are a bit flavorless and have a light consistency of fish, which, I don’t necessarily mind, however it’s just not a satisfying experience given the flavor level is so low, kinda just feels and tastes like a fish filet. The elote is good, but again, MAJORLY skimping on the mayo. If your gonna add mayo to it, make sure to add enough (and actually send it in a bowl —NOT a cup , given the forced up charge.) overall I’d give it a solid 3.5 out of 5.. not happy , not mad , just not satisfied. Went there to get something quick ended up waiting 45 to get my food from the moment k ordered. After checking in status of my order several times the lady kept telling me 10 min. Me waiting patiently, after everyone gets their drinks and snacks , the line dies down and I ask again about my food to the lady wiping counters. She hands it to me saying sorry for the wait. Food was cold and shrimp wasn’t even edible. $80 down the drain. When trying to get something figured out the short Asian girl keeps repeating the same excuses when my food was just sitting back there. Saying she didn’t even have to be there and they were short staffed and she just came in to help. Her attitude repeating “ like I said “ and the “ big boss” saying well we can offer $10 credit, pathetic at this point they are racist against black people because this isn’t the first time .
