We have been so excited for this location to open up and have been going to the Westminster location while we wait. I have tried the breads, sandwiches, and cakes and they are all delicious. Unfortunately I had to give this location 3 stars because it seems to be poorly managed so far compared to the Westminster location.
I love the cold brew latte and have had positive experiences getting it at the Westminster location. The last time I went to this location My cold brew was sour. I even paid for 2 cold brews because I forgot to specify I wanted the latte with my first order. The cashier offered to add milk to my first drink but it was so sour I asked for a new one to be made and even paid for it. Unfortunately my second one was also sour. The poor barista apologized and explained it was his first time and that he wasn't trained on the coffee machine yet. No one was also there to train him and you could tell he was trying to figure it out worth a binder full of coffee recipes. I'm no coffee expert but Google tells me my coffee was sour because it was under-brewed. I had to throw away 2 drinks I paid for because I couldn't drink them.
I also tried to buy 2 cakes that were on display and was only able to get one of the two. The second one they did not have in stock and then when we picked a different cake, they also did not have that one in stock so we had to opt for our 3rd option. Weird to display so many cakes that are not in stock. This was also at 9am so there was no way people came in and bought them all. The cashier apologized profusely and told us that unfortunately the Thornton location doesn't have a big of stock as the Westminster one. Hopefully things get better at...
Read moreUpdate: Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend as highly as I did previously. My personal opinion is that this location was not very well managed and it has suffered from a downward spiral. They are no longer well-stocked (in fact I don't know when, but they shut down their kitchen and now receive a very limited selection of items shipped from the Westminster location, which has fared better I think because it was more established despite sub par management). Their items available leaves a lot to be desired and after going in a half dozen times to find the displays 60-80% empty, find that it's not worth going in to check anymore. It's such a shame because it had great potential. The last cake I got was not very fresh (I would bet money that if they hadn't sold it to me that day it would have been donated or chucked - I could tell because the icing on the cake was not smooth and the cake itself was on the dry side). I really hope they can salvage this location or I would expect it to shut down when the lease is up.
The best bakery in the area, I’m so glad they opened one up in this location. The pastries, breads, cakes, macaroons and drinks are all delicious - our family has tried most of their items (mostly from Westminster location, but this one is same management) and there isn’t a single thing we’ve tried that we don’t like. My favorites are the blueberry yogurt cake and rose macaroon. The fruit is super fresh. I love that the sweetness is perfectly balanced and not cloying compared to others. The store is really clean, and in the era of COVID, I appreciate the masks, hygiene and individually...
