I haven't been to 5 Guys since covid and thought we would get a bite before heading over to do some retail shopping. The peanuts are cool to snack on before you order, but not really needed at the time we went because there was no line...and I think I kinda know why, but we will get to that. The guy who took our order was great; you can tell he isn't really interested in working in fast food, but who is all-in on that? He asked my how my day was and it seemed like he genuinely cared, so we engaged in small conversation while the others in my party figured out what they wanted. We got 2 double burgers, 1 hot dog, 3 drinks, 2 small fries, and 1 large...because I didn't know. With gratuity, $70. If you look at my other reviews and the restaurants I go to, money is not the issue. It's all about value. This better be the BEST burger I've ever had. Well, it wasn't, but the ingredients were fresh enough. Let's talk about the fries. After today my beautiful bride renamed 5 Guys, 5 Fries. When you order fries, they dump, literally dump an equal helping in with your fries. That's cool if I would have known, now I feel like I just paid $70 for 8 chopped, fried, and seasoned potatoes. I took home a 2 pound bag of just fries, I didn't want to throw them away and I had to feel like I went home with something. Got home, threw them away. Aaaaaand finally, the atmosphere is that of a 1950's burger stand with a bunch of technology. The atmosphere is a dime a dozen, but kudos for not automating the person taking your order. The real question, would I go back? Probably not. It's just not THAT good, but if you are looking for a place to clean out your colon and walk around town money, try 5 Fries. IIIIIF you are young and on a date, go dutch. If you don't know what that...
Read moreNew place to try out so I did - wasn’t familiar with the chain but had an old diner feel. “Fast food” but not fast. The regular burger was a double patty, so newbies be warned it’s not a Wendy’s value menu size sandwich to expect! We ordered with the works which was grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, and some very fresh lettuce and tomatoes which I was impressed with. Also ordered, and shared thankfully, a regular fry which had more fries in the bag than in the cup but more than enough for two of us. A shake with both peanut butter and Reese’s peanut butter cups? Yes, we will have that too. Meal ended up being a healthy amount (not healthy) to eat and we enjoyed it overall. Not a five star rating because the presentation (I know it’s diner fast food…) was a bit lacking with a couple smushed sandwiches tossed in a bag then plopped on the counter with a hollered out number (we were the only ones in the store at the time). The staff seemed sort of friendly but in that, “I’m paid to try to be nice to you” way. Food was great, the presentation just lacked that little extra to make...
Read moreFirst time visiting Five Guys hamburger shop in Westminster, CO. This location is located very close to the Interstate 25 and East 144th Avenue interchange, so easy access north/south/east and west. Three of us stopped by (indoor dining area closed due to COVID-19) to pick up late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We did not order in advance online, but placed a walk-in order at the counter. A wide variety of free toppings! There were 2 or 3 people ahead of us, and we received our bag of food (Little Hamburger x 3, Large fries x 1) in about 10 minutes. Very pleasantly surprised by the burgers - we only ordered lettuce, tomato, pickles and some ketchup and the burgers were very good. I see some other reviewers' feedback that the prices are high, but I would say the prices are on par (if not less expensive) than Rd Robin, albeit with less variety/choices. I would say this place gives Smasburger a good run for their business, perhaps? Friendly service and easy-going atmosphere. Will make a return visit soon....
