The Caprice Restaurant is the perfect sunset date night spot in the Bay Area. I took the ferry from SF up to Tiburon and it was such a quick and scenic trip. When you dock, it’s just a 5 minute walk along this beautiful path to Caprice. It’s a gorgeous American eatery located on the Bayshore of Tiburon. We saw the cutest harbor porpoises bobbing up and down when we were seated. For drinks, we started with an Irish cappuccino and a non-alcoholic cocktail before ordering our 3-course dinner. This was $60 per person. Starting with the appetizers, we got the no cream of asparagus soup, which was so creamy and perfect for this weather, along with a Dungeness crab crisp with avocado and smoked salmon. Surprisingly, we spotted some sea lions while we waited for the second course to come out. We got another round of drinks and then dove into the main entrees. First, was the ribeye steak that was seared in its natural juices and came with a potato zucchini mash. This was the perfect portion for me. My friend got the seared scallops with chive lemon butter and asparagus and she loved it. The sunset that night was absolutely beautiful with the view of the golden gate. Finally, for dessert, we got a creme brĂ»lĂ©e cheesecake and chocolate duet. This was such a great 3-course dinner combo. I caught the ferry going back to the city and it was such an easy trip. You gotta check it out! 📍 2000 Paradise Dr, Tiburon, CA 94920 #sfinfluencer #sfblogger #sffoodie #tiburon

Went in Mid November 2021. Experience was alright but not the best. The view is what makes this restaurant stand out. Service was sub par. I think thats because the owner was there which lead to the service staff only caring about service for him and his guests...Owner and friends took the bar area up and were loud and obnoxious.

My guest and I ordered a fancy bottle of wine. Then our starters and dinner course

Our starters came out before the wine. That should never happen. Then the waiter broke the cork in a $700 bottle of wine. Broken cork inside the wine. I believe this taints the wine. Some would disagree. They used a coffee filter to strain out the remaining pieces of cork. I didn't feel comfortable with this but my guest didn't mind so I let it go. That was the end of that...

Then I get a call from my accountant 2 weeks ago saying you were charged twice at the Caprice. I was surprised. I wouldn't have noticed this if it wasn't for him. Called Management and I was told I would get a call from the credit card processing company and numerous people were charged twice in November. It's now January. Shouldn't Management have gone through all the receipts to see if people were over charged in November?? If he did he over looked mine and my guests...Still waiting for my refund. My guest and I spent around $1200 that night. After speaking with Management I dont think they really care.

Check your credit cards if you patronized this establishment in November 2021. I guarantee patrons were over charged and things were over looked...

Still waiting for my account to...

Most certainly the absolute worst food we have had in a while. One has to wonder if these restaurants are actually "paying" for these positive reviews. The peach and Prosecco cocktail tasted like syrup, was served in a wine class with a HUGE straw. The Branzino entree included two, very tiny filets of fish, very plain and tasteless. The only side was an extremely over cooked, (tough little bricks) medley of onions, purple and white potato, or something like that...and it was inedible (waiter did not ask why it was untouched when he cleared my plate). My husband ordered the sea bass, which was such a tiny portion and accompanied by the tiniest scoop of potato-zucchini mash. Good thing we each had our own Caesar, which was good, but over dressed and again, the portion size was very much on the tiny side. Our friend ordered the Alfredo with chicken and it was such a tiny portion it was embarrassing. Truly looked like a kid's meal. Unfortunately, it was absolutely missing the cream and tasted like noodles with butter with little sparse specks of chicken. Huge disappointment. As you would guess, bread and butter was a necessity, as were the desserts, which were very delicious and fresh. The views are gorgeous. The staff is very good. The parking is free. Unfortunately the entrees are most important to us, and for that reason, we will...

We had a reservation for dinner on New Year’s Eve with the specific desire to have what we always have
ABALONE. Because of the special day, we called the restaurant in advance to confirm the menu and that they were serving abalone. We had great difficulty getting a call back from the restaurant after at least a dozen calls without answer. My partner finally reached the general manager and spoke directly to him and inquired about the menu. He was assured that they were absolutely serving their specialty
abalone. We arrived at the restaurant for a 7pm reservation only to find an overbooked, jammed restaurant and had to wait 35 minutes for our table. Once seated we ordered. When we got to ordering the main dish, there was no question about what we were having
two abalone. The waiter said, “Oh, we ran out of abalone, but I will check the kitchen.” He came right back and flatly told us, “No abalone, what would you like to order?” My partner told him what we went through to confirm that they had abalone and that we wouldn’t have driven for 1 hour from our home to go there if we weren’t going to get what we wanted! The waiter showed no empathy and moved on to serve our AWFUL meal and then had the person clearing the table deliver our check. A TERRIBLE NEW...
