Pit Stop Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Tifton

I am a trucker and have seen many signs for BBQ and other restaurants only to find out after stopping that they were disappointing...I tried Pit Stop BBQ and it was amazing!!! The staff and owner were super friendly and awesome!! I called at 7:30pm knowing that they closed at 8pm just to see if I could get a to go order as I would be arriving around 8:15pm...They said sure and had my order ready when I got there. They even called me back to check on my location! They are located on a side street so parking the truck was easy.

I recommend the chicken and beef combo. The beef was more tender and better tasting than most briskets that i have tried in the past! The chicken was moist and melted in the mouth. The BBQ sauce was perfect and complimented the beef and chicken. I even put some BBQ sauce on the mashed potatoes! The combo came with two sides...i got the mashed potatoes which are homemade and baked beans!! Everything was excellent!

The ambiance was very cozy and it had great Feng shui as I didn't want to leave! I also tried their homemade cake which was so moist and delicious! So you have to get one for yourself and one for your spouse!!

It was real easy to get back on the highway so no excuse not to stop! I'm telling all truckers who want a hike cooked hot meal to give them a try and you will be...

This is THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!!! A MUST VISIT!!!!!!!!! Nothing anywhere is bad or wrong! Family owned and operated!!!! Everyone so friendly and enjoy their jobs!!! You are met with lots of smiles!!! Cashiers are very nice!!!!! The barbeque was great!!!!!!! I loved the sweet sauce...Sid loved the other one not so sweet. Barbecue chicken was perfect! I love pork and beans ....theirs were just right! Potato salad !!!! YES!!! Love their fried okra!! First visit was barbecue Second was their chicken. Third visit was their steak!, Awesome and the salad that goes with it is so big and has bell peppers slice, onion slice, cheese, boiled egg, black olives, cucumbers, salad tomatoes and a lot of croutons on iceberg lettuce? Very good and couldn't eat it all!! And take home plate of their wings!!! They grill them first then batter and fry them!! LOVE THEM! The hot ones are not too hot they are just right!!!! Not a real good experience. We were traveling back home and were looking for a meal in the area. We found Pit Stop on maps and read the reviews, figured we'd stop in. Plenty of room to park, we were greeted at the door. Quickly seated in a fairly empty restaurant. The waitress came to the table quickly and took our order. I ordered a BBQ sandwich meal with water. The sandwich was meh at best, not a lot of flavor and some gristle, the fries were standard bar fare, and the cup of slaw was flavourless and nearly frozen. At this point it was a 5/10, but we were hungry and it was better than fast food. Then the bill came, we were charged for tap water. Tap water in a dirty cup. I assumed this was a mistake, I asked to speak with the manager. I exclaimed to her that we both ordered a meal and I didn't think it was fair to charge for tap water. In front of the restaurant by the bar, she admonished me about how she had to pay for water, electricity, and other utilities. She told me that it was on the menu and she would gladly show me. It was my fault I didn't see it. Given this ladies attitude, I would assume she was the bitter owner. Given that, I would never come back here, nor would I ever do business...
