If I could give this motel negative stars, I would. We were traveling northbound last weekend; it was late and we were getting tired so we decided to stop for the night around Valdosta. Except that between people displaced by recent storms and some kind of sporting event, all the rooms in the Valdosta area were sold out. We tried the Hahira and Adel exits, too. We finally were able to make a reservation by phone for the Super 8 in Tifton. We should have just found a rest area and slept in the car.
The proximity to I-75 was great, and that's about all that was good about our stay. The area is sketchy and our room was on the back side of the building, where there were people loitering and trash was on the sidewalk. In the room, there was a bad odor, numerous cigarette burns on the bedspreads, the TV didn't work (which we were told about and it wasn't a problem, except that it didn't turn all the way off so there was a weird light in the room all night from the icon on the screen), and dirty floors. The sink was filthy and caked with grime. The bathtub had matted hair and paint chips on the drain, so we didn't even consider showering. The toilet wasn't awful, but wasn't really clean, either.
We had a hard time sleeping because of a barking dog in the next room. All 4 of us (including 2 teens) were wide awake before 6am so we packed up and left. We went a couple of exits away to stop for breakfast, because we were grossed out at the thought of eating on-site, and we didn't really feel safe at this exit in the dark. And then to top it all off, we found out a couple days later that they double-charged us for the room.
We sent an e-mail to the customer care department at Wyndham, and they basically said that it's a privately owned property so we need to take any issues to the management. However, as seen by the large number of poor reviews on Google and TripAdvisor, management is well aware of these long-standing problems. The manager did offer us a free night stay, but that's a hard pass, even though we will be back in Georgia next weekend.
We travel pretty often and will be avoiding all Wyndham-branded properties in the future, since they don't seem to have an issue with their name being attached to such a poorly managed property. As a consumer, how can you trust what you'll get, if the company isn't willing to require a minimal standard of cleanliness in the properties associated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe owner of all people was the rudest person Iāve ever encountered! This site should be checked into before very bad things happen as these characters could care as much as satan about there guest well being and safety! I woke use the restroom and a huge puddle of water was on the floor as I rose to use the rest room. My socks completely wet and almost fell. Told owner and you would have thought Iād did him an inconvenience. I now get why law enforcement is ALWAY very close and watching. To assist this evil awful waste of air. Night rep said I get another room. This demon yelled at his house keeper from the office and told her NO! Make a house keeper clean it and keep me in it. Be respectful and wise to the evil tactic. I waited. Come to find out this water wasnāt just any water it was sewage water. I ended up have to clean and mop this room because the one house keeper worked until 7 pmin the room that causes all the issues. That was a huge health code violation and Iām in the process of taking further legal actions against this wicked selfish racist from a foreign land. I also have all the proof of calling this guy to ask about getting the room clean. I midstream of asking about what time the wet sheet and blanks would be picked and the very smelly floor mopped him and his wife arguing and he while Iām speaking yells for three minutes at her. Doesnāt take the phone away from his mouth. Only way I recognize this disrespectful uneducated zero class was talking to me was because he spoke in their native language. Totally unexceptionable entire way of treating another human. But the evil wither as the grass. The time is near and his later wonāt be bearable for the wicked awful deceitful huge lack of character he has. Stay away from this roach invested blood on the sheets filthy run down place like the owners attitude. They go hand and hand. Absolutely the worst experience and customer service dosent even exist here. Total ower change needs to take place or Wyndham should totally take them off because iit creats bad disposition for said hotel. Customer service training...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI stayed there in April 2017, and when I was on the way I called Super 8 and ask for vaccant rooms and asked for prices, they told me the price around $X+tax, then I go there and I took the room and told the receptionist that we are 3 adults and 1 child 4.5 years and 1 infant. they took the payment by cash and took the copy of my credit card, after couple of days I saw my bank statement the guy charged $16 extra from my bank account without my consent. I called them and then the reception guy (Kenny patel) told me that you were 3 adults and you told me only 2 adults during the stay, the guy lied on my face. Also when I called for reservation before staying no one asked me for no. of peoples staying and they just gave me the price for room with two Queen beds. Then I asked him to reverse my transaction and pay my money back, he started misbehaving and speaking in irresponsible language and spoke bad words for my wife and my Kids, for just making $16 he went to the level of disrespect that no one can believe. The room was just OK, bathroom flush was not working properly, WIFI connected but internet didn't even work for a single minute. Towels were so dirty that I used my personal towel which I bring for my trip. Breakfast was Ok. A/C was tripping again and again and making a lot noise that whole night I wake up again and again. I would not recommend anyone to go there, and IF anyone go there then please dont give your credit card information, because they charge your card without...
