Do. Not. Miss. This. Place.

If you have ANY affinity for Mexican food at all, you have to make this a destination. Take a turn into Bob's quick stop gas station just off I-75. Gas up, then park your car and head for a delightful meal in this little gem of a restaurant! It's on the right-hand corner of the gas station but only shares a wall and a parking lot, nothing more. And make sure you're in the right place and not in the bigger OTHER Mexican place that sits to the left of the gas station - missing THIS for that would be regrettable at best). Hector Chavez owns and runs the place with his brother, I believe he said, and he could not be any nicer or more talented at preparing this food.

This place is not fancy, but that's further proof that the best things don't always come in the shiniest packages. Maybe 12 tables altogether, if that, and a salsa bar that takes up a significant amount of space at the center of them (chipotle salsa, salsa verde, avocado salsa, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños, radishes, and various other goodies to sprinkle, spread & spice up whatever you please).

We started with the made-to-order guacamole (delicious, and a lot like how I make it at home - chunky, with tomatoes, onions & cilantro). Chips were fresh and perfectly thin, and though served in a too-small bowl, they were more than happy to bring us all we needed (and from a profit margin perspective, better to refill than risk waste anyway). Cheese dip was thin & good, easy to pour over nearly everything we ate. Salsa was fresh too, very different & very good.

After looking over previous Yelp reviews, I had the chicken taco & the lime beef taco, and both were wonderful but I can say with 100% conviction that the chicken was the best taco I've ever had. Flour tortilla with onion, lettuce, cheese, sour cream & cilantro, sounds pedestrian, but don't be fooled - it was other-worldly. They also have tongue, tripe & pork options I didn't try on this go-around. Hub had the burrito bowl, which was a menagerie of the lime steak, poblano peppers, rice, sour cream, chipotle ranch sauce, roasted corn, cheese, zucchini, & tomatoes. At $8, he didn't find he preferred it over the ridiculously good $2.50 tacos I had, but he still thought it was super good. They sometimes have fruit waters on the menu but not tonight - he had tea and I splurged and drank a Coke served in a tall glass bottle just like when I was a kid (only bigger!).

I could not bear the thought of leaving all this behind until our next jaunt down the 75 corridor for Florida, so we ordered 4 more tacos & stashed them in the RV fridge for tomorrow's lunch. My Monday just improved by at least 75%.

Oh, and the bill? This feast for two at dinner was only $25, just unbeatable for this level of quality AND quantity AND flavor. And only $10 buys a repeat performance at lunch tomorrow - unquestionably worth...

Overall it is a good place to grab a quick bite that feels like authentic Mexican food. I had been going to get lunch there at least 3 times per week, maybe that's what ruined it for me. But on my last visit, I order 3 Tacos and a Steak Quesadilla...my three tacos fell apart, so I just ended up eating the meat of the plate with small pieces of tortilla(real G style), and then I took a bite out of my Quesadilla (queso means Cheese) so We can call it a Flour Tortilla Steak taco since it did not have any cheese in it. As I went up to pay, i said to myself, should I say something like....just an observation...and as I approached the counter the lady told me my total, I got out the money and said: Madam, I know quesadillas need cheese in the(i said it in the most friendly way) and I just got a n extra Steak Taco 😁. She just ignored the hell out of me 😅 And turned to the board on the wall, so I smiled and say madam my quesadilla had no cheese in it 😅....she kept looking at the board😑and said: yes, yes😒..with that face...so I have not gone back ever since nor do i plan on going ever again. But they do have some good food, maybe it was just a bad...

My soon to be ex wife raves about this place. The name even states “Taco” in it. They don’t even posses hard shell tacos. How is this possible? When most people think “Tacos”, they think hard shell and soft shell. They have no ground beef tacos to even offer. I guess if you are in a 400 sq foot building attached to a gas station, you prob shouldn’t expect much. In fact, I went at 330pm yesterday and they closed at 2pm (wow) on a Monday. It looked, from what I saw thru the window, that they were in the process of moving out. I really thought they were out of business. But I just called and was informed by “Tacos Hermanos” that they don’t have real tacos. I guess taco means something different at gas stations. I gave it 3 stars bcuz of my soon to be ex wife/ which I called after I tried to place the order....told me that she only gets one thing..it’s the only things she likes....

It's hard to see from the road, and the turn in can be a bit tricky, so just relax and let your stomach do the driving. Without question, one of the hidden gems of Tifton. Their tacos and tortas are some of the best I've ever had, and their guacamole, salsa, and sauces are all a mile beyond sublime. It's family owned and operated, and it couldn't have a more cozy and authentic feel. And they sell masa. Real Masa. The sort of stuff that only comes from abuelas in small kitchens deep in rural Mexico. I make it a point to eat here as often as I can, and so should you!

If you like good, authentic Mexican, this is the place for you. I love a good torta. This could have been an amazing torta, but the inside of the bun was a bit over toasted so the burnt bread flavor kept creeping in. I also prefer a little refried bean spread on my torta but they don't add it here. But even with that, really good flavors and the torta came with fries. The tacos I saw other people order looked pretty good too. I will certainly eat here again when I'm passing through.
