We had to grab a quick lunch on a Friday afternoon and we decided to give this place a try. Knowing it's Friday, we decided to look through the menu and try the pick-up option on their ordering system. We decided to try the chirashi and selected the half salad and half rice portion. We were able to pick up the food within 15 minutes and everything looked great as far as presentation goes and the portion is acceptable for the price, but, they do not give out soy sauce when you take out. We were only given ginger and wasabi and there was no option to ask for soy sauce under the same category. We later on realized that on the menu, you would be charged for soy sauce! ??? Soy sauce is not very expensive but $0.50 extra for soy sauce? The system charges an extra $1.00 per item on line as opposed to walking in to order for pick-up and TBH, soy sauce should be handed out complimentarily since the rice has no flavor. It's just plain rice and plain greens, no dressings on the side or in the salad. Sadly, we did not finish our food because it was tasteless. Perhaps, we need to sit in and eat? Asking to be tipped at 18% and up is a little steep especially when so many condiments are charged as extra's. Not sure if I would come back since poke bowls are a lot more flavorful than this sad...
Read moreI was ravished since I haven’t even had lunch due to a mishap in the original place I meant to dine in - so stopped by since I recalled friends recommendation here.
I make unagi don at home, but with a toddler, it hasn’t been easy to make wholesome meals for myself. I chose a back area to sit with a high chair, and passed by a white dog stuffed animal - she’s obsessed with dogs, and kept trying to grab it.
Waitress kindly gave permission for her to hold it, and it helped calm her down.
The food arrived promptly sizzling hot, topped off with generous amount of shichimi tougarashi (seven spices, very mild). With the sweet and spice combo, I gave the sweeter section to my daughter, and she enjoyed it very much.
The eel was tender and juicy, and rice soaked up the flavors well. I made a mistake of placing the water cup too close, and a little hand quickly found its way - ending up on the floor. I was embarrassed, but grateful it was cleaned up quickly and with such kindness.
Finding a child friendly establishment can be a challenge at times, but this was a wonderful experience to dine with my daughter. We’d be happy to...
Read moreI discovered this place in a short video and decided to try it. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.
We tried the Unagi Beef and Poke, and found the Unagi Eel to be delicious and beautifully presented. Although the rice was slightly dry, the dishes were beautifully presented, and the ingredients were fresh. Our suggestion would be adding more seasoning to the beef and poke to make the flavors stand out. Although I did happen to find a few scales on my fish, it was not a major issue. So because of those reasons I felt like price was a bit steep for the food.
I offer this feedback constructively, as there is always room for improvement. For instance, the water station could benefit from a more robust set-up, with a larger container and cold water options.
Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and saw potential in this new restaurant. I look forward to seeing how it evolves...
