Marshall should have people lined up down the street all day, every day. I agree with all of the rave reviews. He's so friendly! He remembered me on my second visit and the name of the town I'm from. He liked that I came back so soon after my first visit even though I live 45 min away. (It's worth the drive!)

I thought no one in Portland even knew what a smash burger is - until now. Hint: crispy edges. The crispy edges on these are insane.

Pro tip: get the grilled cheese smash, add a patty and extra onions: chef's kiss. You'd think it would be too much bread since it's made with two Texas toast grilled cheeses but no, it's cheesy good perfection. Go for those extra carbs. Trust me, bro.

Next up, we have the house lemonade. It's made with fresh mint that is boiled in water three times with the water recycled but with fresh mint each time. Then he boils the lemon peels in the same water. Then he makes god-tier lemonade with it. He said it takes him three hours to make a batch.

Everything Marshall does, you can truly taste the quality and you know it's actually made with love and pride.

Did I mention the totally reasonable prices? For your money, you're getting fresh, high quality ingredients, like Tillamook cheese.

This tiny food cart fully deserves all the praise and more. You will not regret...

I had been on the hunt for the best summer burger of 2025 and I have found my place.

I had never had a “smashed” burger before so I was iffy on giving this place a try but saw their food truck so I gave it a try. Needless to say it was the most delicious burger I’ve had in a LONGGG time. Customer service was GREAT. The gal at check out was super sweet and helpful navigating all their options. I got to meet the burger chef who provided great customer service and talked me through the process of a smash burger. I even got to meet the owner, James. Very outgoing and nice man!

I got a single patty with everything on it ( the goods; lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions & pickles.) AMAZING. Curly fries on the side which were seasoned to perfection with the house fry sauce which is out of this world. It has a hint a spice just absolutely complimenting the burger and fries and a house lemonade. Lemonade was freshly squeezed and both citrusy while maintaining a comfortable sweetness.

PDX Smash Burgers is hands-down a new favorite spot! I started with the Single Smash, fries, and their mint lemonade, and everything hit the spot. The burger was perfectly crispy and juicy, the fries paired with their secret sauce were addicting, and the lemonade was so refreshing I had to order a second one.

Next on my list: The Works and the Grilled Cheese Smash. I can already tell this is going to be my go-to burger stop. The best part is that it’s right up the street from my work, so I can swing by after my shift or grab a bite before hopping on the freeway.

The outdoor tables give you a nice little view of the sky and trees, making it a great spot to chill solo or hang out with friends. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better.
