The Mac — Restaurant in Tigard

I have eaten here once before today and will never eat here again simply due to the horrific customer service I received when I went to go pick up my order for my family. I ordered my food online and it gave me 45 min to pick up my order. When I arrived the person at front said they had not even started my order and it was behind several other orders. I simply told them that I was disappointed and that I ordered online for the convenience of not having to wait. This set the person helping me on a tyrant rage and he stated that I could get my money back or wait and slammed the window closed. I stated that I would like my money back and he continued using phrases like: “we don’t need your business, we make a lot of money anyways” “I have my own business, what do you have?” (Apparently, he was implying he was the owner!) THE THREAT “If I ever see you outside this cart I will take care of you another way” I have owned several restaurants in my past and the value of losing a customer becomes exponential, so I am glad that “THE MAC” makes so much money they don’t need very basic customer service skills and don’t mind losing customers. Was drawn in by the picture of surf and turf off of highway 99 and finally decided to give it a try. The sign apart from the main menu shows your choices for the surf and turf and the prices. It in no way explains that this must be coupled with the “Mac” (not very good, especially since it is their namesake). I then asked the guy working the window how things worked and he rudely responded (was not busy btw) by telling me to figure it out on the website. Frustrated, but also wanting to try this spot I went on the website and dug through their menu, which isn’t the same as what was in front of me. I then asked him again and he even more rudely and vaguely explained that I had to order the Mac amount with what ever seafood/meats I wanted. After calculating this, the least expensive thing you could get was $26 and they wouldn’t even put it all together, instead they gave it all to me as sides. In order to enjoy what is in the picture, I calculated that it would cost $65. I might have been willing to spend this much if the guy wasn’t so arrogant, but after tasting their sub par Mac and okay meat/seafood, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Went here with friends after we had seen the instagram advertisements for months on end. The prices seem high, but the portion sizes are decent enough to justify the cost. With only two people ahead of us in line, the wait time was still nearly 45 minutes before ONE person in my group got their food. Funnily enough, the person taking your order will nudge you to tip while paying, as if they waited on you or served you in a timely manner. I ordered the chicken thighs and fries, totaling $15. The fries were cold on arrival and a bit soggy, albeit they were seasoned quite well. The chicken thighs were coated in delicious breading that was seasoned well, however it was ruined by the chicken inside that had absolutely no flavour (I suspect it was not brined at all). As for the "mac", the two people in my group that ordered it could only describe it as "decent, better than the chicken". The two best things about this establishment was the undercover eating area provided, and the cream soda.
