I have been a Rudy customer a very long time, but the current staff treats this location like a playhouse, they messed up my order 2 days ago (which I won't even start on) but today I order the same simple thing, 3 chili dogs, everything with cheese, I get the dogs 10 minutes after waiting (mind you I am the only customer here) I go home to eat and open them to find 1 dog with cheese no Chilli and the other 2 with Chilli and no cheese, not 1, not 2 but all 3 dogs messed up, I go back to have them fixed no big deal, I ask who the manager is, nobody seems to know, come to find out its a young man named Juan bless his heart this man deserves a raise, while I make my complaint, he apologizes and proceeds to make me a new order, me and him share banter when a blonde female in sweatpants who gave me the name of Vanna told me that the whole staff is teenagers so no one can be upset for the constant wrong orders, mind you these are people age 19-22 not young teenagers, and proceeds to tell me that if I dislike the service I should go to a different location, Juan had told her not to get involved and attempted to dismiss her, but she continued to engage me so I engaged her back, once I finally got my food I apologized to Juan for the madhouse he is in charge of, they have no respect, the other employees was laughing at the situation, and even encouraging Vanna to continue to argue you with me, easily one of the worst experiences at ANY establishment I have ever been too, also instead of going to a different location I've chosen to just not be a Rudy's customer...
Read moreI recently visited the Monroe Street Rudy's Hot Dog location, my first time at this particular spot. My past experience with Rudy's wasn't stellar, so I approached with some hesitation. The atmosphere is your classic, no-frills diner – kind of old-school and cafeteria-style, where you order at the counter. The staff, however, were a definite highlight. Super friendly and efficient, they whipped up my order quickly. I went with the chili dog and onion rings. The onion rings were pretty standard – likely frozen – but they were cooked perfectly crispy. The real star of the show was the hot dog itself. Delicious! I especially loved the chili; it had a great flavor. Now, for the downside. The restaurant's cleanliness was questionable. It definitely looked like it could use a deep clean. I understand it's a hot dog joint, and some "greasy spoon" ambiance is to be expected, but this was a bit much. Overall, I'm torn. The food was a definite win – those hot dogs and that chili were excellent. The onion rings were just okay, and the cleanliness was a concern. The friendly and fast service was a big plus. If I go back, I'll probably opt for takeout. Those hot dogs are worth it, but maybe best...
Read moreIf you haven’t been to Rudy’s Hotdogs in Toledo, are you even living? 🌭😂 I walked in hangry and left with a belly so full I considered rolling home. Rudy’s is the superhero of hotdog joints—no cape, just buns! 🦸♂️🍞
The staff greeted me like I was a long-lost cousin at a family reunion (the kind you actually want to see). 👋😄 I ordered a classic Rudy Dog with everything on it. When they say “everything,” they mean it. The sauce is key here—it’s so good, I’d put it on just about anything. 🥫🌭
The hotdog itself? Perfectly steamed and nestled in a soft bun, just the way hotdogs should be. Add a little mustard for taste, and you’ve got a flavor explosion that’ll have you dreaming about your next visit. 🌭💥 The chili and onions were piled high—my shirt barely survived the experience. (Pro tip: napkins are your best friend here! 🧻)
The fries? Let’s just say my diet plans are now somewhere at the bottom of Lake Erie. 🍟💔 Worth it.
If you’re in Toledo and don’t stop at Rudy’s, your taste buds will file a formal complaint. 📝 Five stars, two thumbs up, and a mustard stain on my shirt as a badge of honor. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍
Rudy’s: Come for the hotdogs, stay for the memories…and maybe a second...
