Went to my first concert at the new Promenade Park last night. Gin Blossoms were the headliner and the music was great. The whole park itself is very well kept, clean, and spacious. My problem comes down to the terrible food and bathroom situation. There were I think 5 food trucks at the show, two of which were dessert related. I went to get food before the final act started and I didn't actually get fed until the last song of their set. I waited an entire hour to eat and missed the whole concert because there was only one food truck, JoJo's, that didn't run out of food and obviously everyone was at that truck. The Displaced Chef ran out of food completely and the other hot dog truck was only serving plain hot dogs with no toppings. What pisses me off is that not only should you know how many people will be attending these events, buy food trucks are mobile vehicles. If one of then runs out of food then get them the hell out of there and bring in a different truck who can actually serve people. This whole situation completely ruined the concert for me and is honestly inexcusable. This was only made worse by the fact that if I wanted to pee I had to stand in a separate 30 minute line. Thankfully I didn't really care about the bands playing because if I did I probably wouldn't go to this venue again. Or at least I would eat first.

Nice venue for parades and civic events along the waterfront. While I was originally against the Promedica acquisition of the park, their changes did bring increased value. Before, it was more just open space that was somewhat tidied up for concerts and fireworks displays. Now, there is a splash pad, two parking garages (one underground) and a nice manicured and partially stepped lawn for attendees to congregate upon. Due to the garage addition, there is a street that food trucks can now use instead of having to stay up along Summit street. The hike up the hill to Summit street can be adverse to some.

The splash pad is the best idea ever!!! My kids LOVE coming here and playing, running through the grass, and then exploring down by the water. Im so thankful Toledo put this amazing feature in for our community to enjoy for FREE! The ONLY downside is the opening to the splash pad wide and easy for small kids to run towards the main road- so having multiple small children to watch can be nerve racking. We either park directly in front of it or across the street in the 5/3 parking garage (I paid $3 for 2-3hrs)

Promedica has out done themselves with the redesign of Promenade Park! The old Steam Plant rings dawn the path from the upper park to the lower park is dubbed "Echo". The original Promenade round marquee from the 80's sits on the top corner of the park. A water feature that lites up at night is a great touch for summer and is covered in the winter for a Christmas tree. The park is great for concerts! You can head down to the stage or stay up top and watch the concert on the big screen.

Enjoy the view of the city with some good music, fun and volleyball! Lots of food around you if you get hungry. It would be nice if the nets around the fence were replaced or fixed to prevent the balls from going over. The nets are a little loose and would better if they had proper tension. Sand isnt too bad. It's soft but will pack down hard when wet and does kick up dust when dry. There are 2 porta potties and a hose to rinse your feet off.

Promenade Park has always been one of my favorite places to walk around since I was a child. There have been so many upgrades over the years it just keeps getting better! Big screen for movies in the summer, concerts, festivals, fishing or just a stroll by the river. This is one of my favorite places to go in Toledo. Little secret: Look for Simon says while you're here, my family has so much fun playing it. It's right before the Cherry St. Bridge
