On the 21st of November 2015 I took my wife there to enjoy the pizza that I have eaten before when I go there for conventions. We ordered a deep dish pizza and we knew it was going to take 45 minutes, but we had a flight to take later on. Our waitress was super great no problems whatsoever until... I noticed the waitress bring a pizza to the people behind us that showed up 10 to 15 minutes after us. Now it was early in the day around 11:30 in the morning they weren't that busy. I had a feeling that they serve the wrong pizza which was our pizza to the people behind us. I overheard the people behind me saying this is too cheesy I don't think this is ours. The waitress took the pizza back to the kitchen. I asked the people behind us was that their pizza, they said no. The guy told me he grabbed it and noticed it wasn't his pizza. So he did touch the pizza. Then I proceeded to stand up to find the waitress and I notice that the kitchen staff was arguing about the pizza then one of the waitresses said oh you could have this pizza. I told her it's been touched by the other people know I do not want it. She said no it has not been touched by the people the gentleman that handled the pizza told me yes I did touch the pizza. I went back to sit at my table to explain what's going on to my wife then the manager came up and said hey you can have that pizza. I told them no I don't want that pizza that's not how business is conducted other people have handled that pizza. He said no one touch the pizza. The gentleman behind me stood up and said yes I handled the pizza I touched it. I didn't have time for another 45 minutes for their mess up I was extremely disappointed that that manager knew that the other people handle the pizza and tried giving me the pizza. I find that very disgusting how you can give one product to one person take it back to the kitchen and then offer it to the other customer one day no its been manhandled. I challenge the owner of this Pizza location to contact me to talk about this and explain to me how that manager was so disgusting on handing food that was already served at another table and handled by other people. If you really want to work this out and become a better business leave your email so I can send...
Read moreExpensive pizza with a cheap flavorless crust. Crust is akin to a supermarket boxed pizzakit. Edit: Based on the GM's need to respond to my review, I would love to go in further detail about while I will not be ever returning to your establishment. I happen to very much be a "fan" of pizza Dave. In fact I would go so far as to say I'm pretty pizza obsessed. I've eaten pizza in multiple states and from well over 50 different establishments. Your's now ranks dead last. Maybe you should go expand your horizons a bit more on the pizza front. To reiterate how not a fan of pizza I must be, then I guess it makes little sense for me to travel over 4.5 hrs to cincinnati every few months and get Dewey's... you know because not a fan of pizza... Maybe you should go to a Dewey's, there is one in Cleveland. I have eaten at ALL and I mean ALL of their restaurants and had a consistent experience at each, with a far superior pie. The GM even once came out to me after I called ahead and told me how sorry he was that they had to refire the pizza's i ordered (4 because "not a fan") because they were "overdone." So he gave me 4 fresh pies and the 4 overdone pies. There was nothing wrong with the first 4, they just didn't meet their very high standards. I ate all 8 pies over several days and they were delicious. On the note of being the best pie in Toledo... nope, Village Idiot in Maumee is far better. When it comes to your pie...I would rather eat Dominos.
P.s. This has very little to do with the price too, a 17" from Dewey's is almost $22 per pie. So it isn't that...
Read moreFinally got around to trying this place, and was very disappointed. I love hot wings so I got a half dozen to try with their mango habanero sauce. The wings were dry and at least half of them had cracked/broken bones. When I say dry I mean dry. Like when you take your leftover wings home from a place like BWW and reheat them two days later in the oven. That is not an exaggeration, it is a dead accurate description. The mango habanero sauce was underwhelming at best. Good sweetness, but zero heat. I've had slices of jalapeno that we're far hotter, definitely habanero in name only.
So on to the pizza: there aren't a lot of great pizza places in Toledo, in my opinion. Some okay, and a lot of mediocre greasy type places that people seem to like for some inexplicable reason (Marcos, etc). We got a deep dish and I had jalapeno on my half.
When I opened the pizza box I was excited by the presentation, it really looked like a delicious pizza. But then, I bit into it. PICKLED jalapenos. There's nothing quite like biting into what is basically pizza lasagna and tasting like someone dumped a jar of pickles in there. Maybe I'm in the minority, but when your menu says jalapeno, it should specify that they are pickled (because who even wants that? Someone I'm sure..). Just like you wouldn't expect kalamata olives when you order "olives."
I will say their pizza sauce is delicious. I'll give them that and only that. Very...
