Only reason they get one star is because I couldn't give them zero. We called ahead about a week and a half before to reserve a table and when we arrived they said they didn't have my name. Hm...okay...but they still got us seated. Got our alcoholic drinks but the diet coke we had to flag someone else to get. Who knows why it came out after mixed drinks...Our martini came in two different sizes glasses...one significantly smaller than the first. Waited over an hour and a half for our food. Everything came piecemeal...the sushi first, then 1 or 2 dishes every 15 minutes. The soup and salad for the hibachi plate didn't even come. The server literally said, "We ran out of the soup and salad but I can go back there and make you some." What does that even mean- yes, it comes with our meal...go make it! Was she trying to guilt trip us into not making it? Because why tell us you're out if you can make it? Also, close to the tail end of our meal she tells us the calamari was also sold out. Hm that seems the easiest to make wouldn't you know that sooner? Even if that's not the casethat was just another inconvenience to add. My dad's fried rice was cold and had it get it sent back to be warmed up. Service was so slow, food wasn't that great, and very overpriced. And the portions for the fried rice were so small. I will say it was New Year's Eve and we were a party of 12 at 730p so we expected some delay but this was unacceptable. The table next to us left because they didnt even get their food! Another couple warned us as well that they waited almost 2 hours. I don't know if they were understaffed or inexperienced staff or what but it was a very bad experience. It was moderately busy but did not warrant the delays we had or lack of attention. Even the host was slow from watching him seat tables. Just very basic apologies from the server but no effort to make it right. I promise I'm not just a spoiled grouchy customer. I have been a server for most of my life and I just know the type of service that is expected and I have empathy for servers, but this did not deserve my sympathy. Maybe they're better other days, but this was not one of those days. And honestly I just hope this review serves as a constructive criticism to help improve service and quality of your restaurant. We didn't want anything else in return or anything free...just a good evening out and it was...
Read moreI had a great time here. Brought my wife and two small children (3 and 18 months). Staff was great with the kids. Food is good and not overpriced. I hope this place can last. Was there on a Saturday night before a hockey game and was only 1/4 full. COME ON TOLEDO!! You want quality places, you need to support them!!!
Edit: This is the first time I have changed a review from 5 stars to 1 star. I have visited this restaurant 3 times since my initial review, and every visit it has gotten progressively worse. Last night was my last visit and a bonafide disaster. My party of eight arrived at 6:50 for a 7:00pm reservation. By 7:20 we had still not been seated. We congregated at the bar where our average wait time for poorly made cocktails was about 5-7 minutes. These bartenders appeared as though they had no prior experience. Even the draft beer was poured poorly. By 7:40 my party was getting restless. The repeated unapologetic excuse from the host was that they were waiting for people to leave, even though numerous unoccupied tables could be seen that were not being cleared and reset. Also, these excuses had to be solicited, as no one came to check on us, or give us an update. At 8pm, my wife told the host that if we were not seated in the next 5 minutes, we were leaving. We were finally seated at 8:10. Water arrived around 8:30, first round of drinks arrived at around 8:50. Dinner concluded at 9:40pm. One person in our party ordered non-hibachi entrée and it arrived at about 9:30 when we were all done eating. Members of our party were also going to the bar to get drinks since the service was so slow. At no time did a manager come and apologize to us, nor did anyone offer to adjust our bill for the delay. This restaurant has been open for over 2 years, but you would think it was their first week. I worked in restaurants as a server, bartender, and manager, and what I witnessed was complete chaos. I will not...
Read moreBy far the worst service i have ever had. I truly thought i was getting punked. After sitting for almost 15 minutes, the server shows up and we order drinks. He tells me they don’t have what i ordered. Cool, i order something else. 15 minutes later he brings us the wrong drinks because he gave our drinks to someone else. Ok, no problem. He drops our drinks off and goes to the table next to us. The lady orders the same drink i did the first time and he tells her how upset i was because i couldn’t get what i ordered. Then brings her what they are out of.
Another waitress brings us soup and salad we didn’t order, because we still haven’t ordered. 30 seconds later another server tries to take the soup and salad. 2 minutes later he comes back and asks if we are done yet. Our server comes back, immediately walks away again.
Third server shows up and asks if we ordered chopsticks. Um no, we haven’t ordered anything. He takes the soup and salad we didn’t order.
5 minutes later we flag down our server and ask for our checks, to which he responds “whyyyyyyyyyy” in a shrill Whiney voice. I respond we are leaving.
Manager comes over who was sitting two tables away watching a magic show to ask why we were getting up. I proceed to tell him, he calls over another lady who asks what’s wrong. I tell her. She responds with “we know there are problems, we just took over and as you can see we are lining up entertainment”. Unless that magician can poof make the service great, it’s not gonna help lady. Service. Service. Service. Really disappointed because this place...
