Loved the overall experience, was my third time here on a field trip with my daughter & her class. Upon lunch time there was about 2 dozen lunch boxes missing resulting in kindergartens (4,5,6 year olds) without lunch while other people around them have their lunches & are eating while we had no idea where the others lunches were. I kindly asked an employee where we could go to retrieve the lunches that they said would be brought to us by lunch time (& weren’t) & was met with a rude employee by the name of DONNA ( D O N N A she proceeded to yell across the lunch room in front of at least 200 students and teachers) with a bad attitude saying loudly that they are doing all that they can. I walk away & come back for an update approximately 4 minutes later on where my child’s lunch box is and walk into Donna & her manager in a janitor closet, (mid age white male, brown hair, balding) rudely talking about me & making comments & calling me out of my name. I asked if she was talking about me and she begins shouting. I asked why she has an attitude and she begins to shout again. I paid for this field trip for myself and my daughter. Was told that my 5 year olds lunch would be brought down in time for her to eat and it wasn’t. I should have never been shouted at by a janitorial employee who has nothing to do with my kids lunch in front of every teacher, chaperone & student, leaving my student 10 minutes to eat & by the time the lunches were delivered students were already finishing the lunches that did make it on time. It was disrespectful, unprofessional and embarrassing. Donna is pathetic and does not deserve a job in public services. Multiple kids and adults were upset by the situation and all Donna did was make nasty comments and storm away. Shout out to the tall man in the black t shirt with glasses that made the situation right, I did not catch a name. But it was & is...
Read moreThis was a huge disappointment. We had plans that day to go to Sauder but decided at the last minute to pass due to the storms coming in. We took advantage of the "Museums for All" app, and got in for $3 each. If I had paid $22 for Lucas county residents, I believe I would have demanded my money back. There was water dripping from the ceilings all over the place and one such drip landed on my shirt leaving a very sketchy brown stain. Whatever was in that water, also reacted badly with my skin because by the time we got into the car, I had a nasty oozy rash, which is still lingering the next day even though I applied benedryl cream and took a shower. It almost looks like the rashes I get from contact with nickel. This one is just worse than even those. If myself or the 2 other adults that were with me, were under age 9; then the Imagination Station might have been fun for 30 minutes. But anyone ten and up would have found that place BORING. I remember going to COSI on a field trip when I was a 5th grader living in Shelby Ohio (many years ago) and there wasn't enough time there. We spent 3 or 4 hours then. When I was an 8th grader and a girl scout we had a sleepover at COSI, and was an even bigger blast to see new exhibits and visiting some that were still around. I just think that Museums of Industry like COSI or Imagination Station need to remember to have exhibits geared towards younger kids, pre-teens & Teens and also adults so that it's a good time for all. I will definitely warn others NOT to go there in the future, regardless of the...
Read moreImagination Station is a must-visit for anyone with a curious mind, especially those who love science and hands-on learning. The interactive exhibits cater to a wide range of ages and interests, ensuring that both kids and adults can have a blast exploring and discovering new things.
The museum frequently hosts special events, including themed days and even adult-only nights, adding to the excitement and variety of experiences on offer.
While the admission price might seem a bit steep for larger families, it's actually quite reasonable compared to other local attractions like the zoo. With $14 admission for adults in Lucas County and $16 for non-residents, plus $14 for children aged 3-14, it's a worthwhile investment in a day of educational fun.
The museum offers convenient amenities like a cafe for snacks and drinks, as well as plenty of restrooms throughout the facility. The helpful staff is always available to answer questions and provide assistance, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit.
Overall, Imagination Station is a fantastic destination for families and anyone interested in science and technology. While it may cater more towards younger elementary-aged children, there's truly something for everyone to enjoy. It's definitely worth checking out at least once to experience the hands-on fun and learning opportunities...
