Saigon Pho — Restaurant in Tomball

I am absolutely horrified and repulsed at what just happened in this establishment… It was so unprofessional and so rude that I cannot believe this place is actually still doing business. Me and my daughter live in the city of Tomball and we wanted some Pho for the first time in this city, and so we searched and found a place with decent reviews. Mind you, this is me and my daughter’s last day together before she goes back to California to go to school with her mother so we wanted to enjoy her favorite food and tried a new place. We ordered Vietnamese eggrolls, two bowls of Pho with brisket, a Thai tea, and a honey tea. When I sipped the Thai tea, it wasn’t what I expected, but that was OK and then my daughter told me her honey tea tasted like water... But, that was fine and excusable. When the egg rolls came out they weren’t the most appealing but worst the sauce was very runny… I had never seen egg roll sauce this consistency, ever. Almost like they put water in it to make it last longer. The egg rolls were ok but not the best at all. Finally the Pho comes out and me and my daughter say our prayers over our food. I pick up my spoon to sip the Pho and I promise you my eyes opened so wide because I mean literally it taste like they actually used water for the soup base. No flavor and the most bland pho soup I’ve ever tasted..Mind you my daughter is half Vietnamese so we have eaten Pho many, many times. I kindly waive the waitress down and I told her I’m sorry, but this doesn’t taste how I expected it to. I will pay for the drinks. I will pay for the egg rolls but we really don’t want the soup. She responds and says “a lot of people say that and don’t want to pay but I have to pay my managers” me and my daughter looked up at each other and then I said to the waitress “a lot of people say that? That’s interesting”. This let me know that they have heard this more than one time, so why are they still selling the soup? Either way she calls her manager out and I kindly explain the same thing to the manager and I kid you not this manager begin to get upset and started to raise her voice at me and my daughter. Wow! I was so blown away I couldn’t believe what was happening. When she begin to raise her voice, I said, I’m sorry, but I can’t allow you yell at me and my daughter, that is extremely rude. She continue to speak over me and begin to get even more upset and finally told us to get out and not come back. WOW! We got up and I promised her I would never be coming back and that I would be leaving a review to warn people not to go here. As God is my witness, everything that I have said in this review is the truth and it happened exactly how I am telling you. I’m just giving you a warning about what type of people these are, and also the food. I was very calm I was very polite and I was trying to work things out but this woman threw a fit. I will add that our original waitress was very understanding and very nice. It was the woman who came out after that I am speaking in regards to. This was the most horrifying experience I’ve ever had in any establishment or business. How do you yell at your customers and especially young children? I promise you I had to keep myself from getting very upset, and I just walked out. I pray and hope correction comes and that they get things together and change the way they treat people and especially peoples children! I think this is the first review I have ever written but I am leaving so angry with the manager and her way of handling the situation. My husband ordered the seafood pho and I order the eye round and flank pho both large Bowls for $10.00 each (it is a very large bowl). So we get our food mine is delicious minus the meat being overlooked (but I do understand when you are working with very thinly sliced beef) but my husbands was absolutely awful... My husband tried each piece of seafood in the bowl. The shrimp was fine but was not cleaned properly, but the other two items in the bowl were this imitation crab leg that was literally falling apart in strands and a seafood meatball which looked like they had shoved shrimp and imitation crab into a spherical mold and left it for a few days to form, sliced that in half and put it into the bowl. Needless to say my husband was not going to eat anymore because the last thing he wants to do is get sick. So we order him something different for him which was the chicken fried rice FOR $15.00!!! So we get the chicken fried rice and the chicken is DRY , but my husband some of it anyway. So when we go up to pay I ask one of the girls if she would be able to take the $10.00 bowl of soup off of the ticket that we did not eat, she said that was fine and went to let the manager know. The manager comes bursting thru the swinging doors and starts at me saying what was wrong we are everything, this and that. But I was refusing to pay for the seafood soup. She said that if your going to order it your going to pay for it and she said she would take half, I told her no and she said "well then you don't pay you leave and don't come back" We grabbed our things and left, the manager is very disrespectful when she doesn't agree with what you say to her and my husband and myself will never be recommending this place to anyone, and it's a shame because I'm sure that the have...

READ!!! Avoid this restaurant. For the quality of food and service in dining not worth eating/spending money. We dined in waited about 30+ minutes and the workers messed up both our orders (we ordered a grilled chicken banh mi) and they gave us 2 beef banh mi. When we told them we didn’t order the beef banh mi the workers looked annoyed and gave us attitude. We ordered what we ordered they messed up our order. We asked how long would it would take for a new order and they said 15 minutes, we were hungry so we just ate what they made. I also ordered a boba drink, and it was awful, no flavor and very frosty and around $7 (I threw it away). They also charged us double for the messed up order, so we walked out spending $70, with incorrect orders, bad service, and low quality food. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I’m surprised that this place has high stars because we were unimpressed. I did notice a lot of to go orders.

*NOTE we ate here about 2 years ago, so it may of gotten better. This is based on our experience on this exact date August 17, 2023 at 11:20 AM. Since I had to get specific since the current owners think I’m lying. Also included a picture of our drinks too with the picture backdrop they had. Smh…

Never coming back. I recommend Vina Deli (we’ve catered from them) located in Spring Texas in the HEB shopping area. Hope this helps.

*Update: clearly the owner has beef with me posting an honest review ✋🏼yall could’ve easily changed the backdrop within the last two years. And no this is not a fake review , i live in the area and gave my honest feedback on the food. I pray the quality has changed...
