I ordered two eggs scrambled with bacon. It came with home fries and toast for $8.70. One Pancake was $3. And a diet coke was $2.25. $13.95 right? Well, my bill was $17.01. $2 difference. When I asked I was told that the eggs had gone up $.25 each ($.50) due to the bird flu and since I ordered a blueberry Pancake that was an additional $1.50. She apologized for not telling me about the extra charge on the pancake. Someone that reviewed this restaurant also had a price discrepancy. I pointed out that the menu says the price is right there...$8.70. "Yes, but the egg price went up by $.25 per egg a couple of days ago." RED FLAG. We can raise our prices anytime we want.
As I sat eating I was facing the counter. There was an employee cutting butter into slices to be given out with orders as I got one with my Pancake. I watched as she cut the butter and then placed the slice into a container with ungloved hands. RED FLAG. Unsanitary.
The waitress was very nice and polite. I gave a 3 star service because she failed to tell me about the change in egg pricing (Rip off) and the additional charge for Blueberries. A 50% markup for just sprinkling a few Blueberries on the batter. My payment alone covers the cost of Blueberries for at least two other customers.
The food was not something that makes me want to go back. The home fries were a combination of burnt and undercooked slices. The rye toast was burnt the first time so she told me it was getting remade. The scrambled eggs were ok. The bacon was very crispy but you could tell it had been made ahead of time.
I really wanted to like this place but I can't say that I do. I don't see a need...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place... I am sorry I did. I ordered two sandwiches and was told it comes with either a soup or fries. I declined and then changed my mind telling the waitress I will actually take one of each since they already come with the sandwiches anyway. And, I grabbed a Snapple. When I got home, I saw my order came to $31.96 (which also included an added service charge of $1.19!). I pulled up their menu and the prices DID NOT match what they charged me. The lady on the phone was incredibly rude and could not break the bill down for me and put me on hold, came back again with an attitude and tried to explain that only fries come with the one sandwich (which was not at all what she told me in person) and tried to tell me that $13.95 $8.50 and $2.95 plus the service fee is equal to $31.96. Hmmm... I don't enjoy writing negative reviews but getting ripped off is unnecessary and if it were an honest mistake, I would have left it alone however, with the added attitude about it on their end is the reason why I am here. Check your receipts people! And a note to their staff, if you're having a bad day and cannot remain pleasant about a discrepency... take the day off and...
Read moreAt 2:30pm, needing something (anything) to eat, as a diabetic on insulin, I stopped in. I was met by 2 "ladies" behind the counter, with nothing to do. One guest was at a table finishing his lunch. Upon approaching them, I was informed immediately that they could not serve me as they were getting ready to close. I mentioned that the door sign read 3:00pm closing & I informed them that I needed to eat ANYTHING right now, so I could do my insulin. They said they could not help & asked I leave. Therefore, I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! I had stopped here for the first time, since it was the closest place to the Post Office, where I had been on a long wait & had to eat. My girlfriend had talked about them & I decided to try them, since they were the closest place available.
I had to drive to Wawa to get something to eat on Rte527 & Rte37, take out, & eat in my car. I had never encountered such type of people. A cold diet soda & a piece of pie/cake would have been enough to remedy my situation. They certainly DO NOT qualify to ever get the best...
