After a very bad day, I was exhausted, sore, and had a headache. I didn't have the energy to pick something up to eat, or to cook anything. So I decided to order delivery, online from jason's deli... BIG MISTAKE!!!
After waiting over 2 hours, I called to check on what was keeping my order. I got passed around, as there was confusion thinking I wanted to make an order, rather than checking on the order I had already placed. While I was on the phone with them, the delivery finally showed up. The food was COLD! Apparently they had it ready 2 hours ago, but waited 2 hours to deliver it. The sandwich was supposed to have a pickle and chips (the receipt even confirmed them). They weren't there. The taco salad was lettuce, tomato, and cheese (a salad) on tortilla chips. There was supposed to be chicken chili (also confirmed on the receipt) to make it something other than a garden salad on chips. I called to complain, and the manager said they would send a replacement out right away...... I guess they decided "Nah!" because it never came.... Still hasn't. I was so starving, I ate the cold sandwich and cold soup, but not the "taco" salad, as dipping chips into lettuce is Weird? Stupid? Pointless?.
If it takes 2 hours for an order, it Should at least be correct. You had time to check it 20 times over. I worked a lot of food service, and orders always got triple checked anyway. The cook/sandwich maker, checked the receipt and made sure they made it right, got everything. Then the person prepping/bagging the order double checked with the receipt to make sure that everything was there and correct. Then the delivery person checked everything with the reciept, because they were the last point of quality control.
In the end they made my bad day worse, my headache bigger and wasted several hours of my day. Then they charged me a pretty penny for a...

Good food and friendly service Ordered the MeataBalla (which is a pretty lame name, in my opinion). Tasted good, was served quickly, had a lot of calories (good for me, they had low calorie options too if that's what you want). The service was good too; the server was friendly and brought the food to my table in a timely manner.
As for the drinks, they have a soda machine and tea options. I just ordered a water.
In addition, they have unlimited free ice cream. I ordered in a group, and as far as I know the unlimited ice cream even extended to the people who didn't purchase anything.
The restaurant is pretty nice looking, though. Especially for a sandwich shop.
Negatives:
Ice cream was kind of plain. May have been in part because I had three cups of it.
Menu was a little convoluted. Hard to concentrate on the different items. Would have liked something a little simpler, and maybe a bit more description for the different items, as some were some Italian things I have...
Read moreWe were so excited to visit JD after not having one around for a few years. It was our first day in Omaha and that’s where we chose to eat. Well.. it was not explained to us that we would pay $8 for a salad bar and we only get 1 trip. The manager explained their business issues with us saying they only make $1 off of the salad bar and that I was violating health ordinances by coming back up with my plate. I can totally understand that. But it was NOT good customer service. This is not good management skills. It was slightly humiliating, and as a customer it’s none of my business what struggles your business has. You either provide the goods and services or not. We even had specific questions about the salad bar when we arrived since there is 2 adults and 3 small children we wanted to be able to feed our kids from the salad bar. Anyway, won’t be sharing this...
