For the price per night and location it's good for a place to sleep.
Centered in the shopping district so you are within walking distance or a quick bus ride/uber trip to Del Amo Fashion Mall (which has pretty much every retail outlet you need), South Bay Mall and a outdoor strip mall.
It's located on a major street and safe although there isn't much to do late night whered youd be walking around anyway.
It is an Inn and not a hotel. The interior looked like it was updated in the bedroom but the bathroom looked dated.
Night was quiet, but noise doesn't bother me much so light sleepers might notice more than I would.
Id stay here again.
Update: I stay here regularly.š
Theyāve been renovating and constantly working on improving the rooms.
The on-site laundry is $2 for wash and dry. If you need to do big loads thereās a laundry mat within walking distance on Hawthorne in the strip plaza just past the big car dealership.
I love that itās owned and run by an awesome family and theyāre always warm, welcoming and accommodating.
Itās still the best place to stay in the area (outside of major hotel chains) as it is centrally located in Torrance and within walking distance to the Del Amo Mall.
Open during COVID. š· Clean rooms. Stayed here multiple weeks throughout this pandemic and still currently COVID negative.š¤
Itās also still one of the only places that have smoking š¬rooms which I appreciate.
For those who donāt smoke and donāt like being around smoke, but staying the night just ask the front desk to locate you farthest from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI chose Del Amo Inn due to the close proximity to where I needed to be for a convention over the weekend, and the price was right. Also, 3.5 stars across multiple sites, including Google Review? That's an average in my book.
I was able to get over how sparse the furnishings were.
I was able to get over how worn everything was, and the damaged mirror frame.
I was able to get over the lack of any information (posted on the inside of the door or otherwise) on fire exit routes, safety information and more. The room literally had no information at all.
I was able to get over the fact that the phone didn't work when I tried to call the front desk to find out the WiFi network and password.
I was able to get over the weak WiFi (once I went down to the front desk and asked for the password).
I was able to get over all of that, because it literally was just a room to sleep in. The staff were helpful when needed.
But what I couldn't get over were the current tenants. They must've been timid the first night I was there, because they didn't show themselves. But overnight the second night the little cockroaches began to come out. When I woke up in the morning of the last day, they had lost all of their shyness, and were happily traipsing around the bathroom counter, around the toilet, and in the bathtub.
The Del Amo Inn has a great location, and could likely be doing gangbusters after a fumigation and facelift. Right now it is just tired and, apparently, a home to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRooms are dark and look depressing. WiFi not reliable. Service deplorable. Management, evil.||||If you want extra towels, better bring your own. We needed 1-2 extra towels and they made us turn in the ones we were already using first, which defeated the purpose of our asking for "extra" towels. I could have assured them we had no intention of stealing any of their dingy, thin, tiny towels; they just hadn't given us enough for two people to begin with. ||||Ice machine was broken and dirty. Carpet and bedspread stained. Microwave tiny and looked unsanitary. Fridge had parts missing. Even all those things might have been bearable, except.....||||The manager/operator is about as nasty as they come. She is not at all personable; actually gruff and downright rude. Behaves as if you're bothering her just by the mere fact that you're there to check in. ||||I actually heard the female manager yelling LOUDLY at a guest. The guest was respectfully seeking clarification regarding laundry facilities. The guest remained civil and kept her voice down; manager seemed determined to be argumentative.||||There is also a male manager (husband maybe?) who, while not charming, was decent enough.||||Only reason we didn't check out early was there was nothing else available in the area for that 4-day period. But never, EVER again will I "bother" them with...
