Overall. 3.75 STAR. This place gives me the vibe of a Hawaiian version of Norms. Good, decent food. Nothing too fancy but satisfy needs. Food quality feels little better than average but nothing I’d crave to come back for. Except for the sweet bread. It’s pretty decent that I wouldn’t mind making a stop to buy some for say, breakfast next day. Service. 3.75 STAR. No complaints, helpful, resourceful waiter. Not over the top concerned with customer satisfaction, relaxed, but comfortable. Food Ordered: *$15.75 Mix Plate (under Combibation Plate) - beef, pork and chicken sampler. Flavor is decent but a tad on the tad too dry side. I guess it’s been the experience with most Hawaiian food I’ve had so far. Beef was sweet & has a beef jerky flavor to it. Pork & chicken was fairly soft. flavor was great when I started out hungry then levels out half way into it. I would try something else next time. 3.75 STAR. *$6.50 Spam Mushibi (under Pupus Appetizers) - rice with spam. Tastes typical but a little dry without the teriyaki sauce. 3.5 STAR. *$2.50 Passion Fruit Orange Guava Juice (kids menu) - refreshing. Delicious. Natural. Comes in a clear to-go cup vs regular size comes in a glass cup. 5 STAR. *$1.95 Vanilla Ice Cream (2@$1.25 ea) - one large scoop. Plenty to share 1 order with 2 young Kiddos. We ordered 2 qty and each kid had half cup leftover. Flavor a tad above typical. 3.5 STAR. *Complementary sweet bread - arrived hot, with cold butter. Fresh, soft taste. Lives up to the reputation. 5 STAR. Other. 4 STAR. Busy restaurant with a large parking lot, plenty of seating, but pretty pack too on a Monday for lunch around 12:30 pm. No wait, no line for me upon arrival. We pass a cool huge pineapple upon dining area entrance and sat close to a large cylinder fish tank, with “Dory” swimming around and entertaining the kids. Kids got busy with crayons and coloring placemat while waiting. Was considering ordering their 3 flavor cake on the cover of the dessert menu, but waiter confirms it contains artificial color & flavor. So we passed. Bought $3.29 Sweet Roll 12/pk to-go.

Warning about unethical practices at this restaurant in the Bakery deparment! I want to warn future customers about an issue I experienced here. When I paid, the employee told me the total was $8.25 but left the card terminal on the counter instead of handing it to me. After processing the payment, he didn’t tell me I needed to sign, so I didn’t touch the terminal at all. However, I glanced over and saw him pick up the terminal, sign it himself, and press a button—likely the one to add a tip percentage. When I checked my bank statement immediately afterward, I saw I was charged almost $10 instead of $8.25. I asked for the receipt to compare, and it showed the correct total of $8.25. However, when I calculated the difference, it was clear that a 15% tip had been added without my authorization. If this extra charge was intended as a service fee (which is usually applied to credit cards, not debit cards), the customer should always be notified in advance, and the charge must be clearly listed on the receipt. In my case, I was neither notified nor did the receipt reflect this charge. This is a serious issue. The employee added a 15% tip for himself without my consent, which is unethical and could have legal repercussions. I recommend future customers be cautious—always ensure you handle the terminal yourself and verify all charges to avoid unauthorized fees. It’s not about the extra amount I was charged; it’s about the ethics and bad practices of the employees. Owners and managers need to pay attention to this, because this time it happened to me, and I noticed. Imagine how many people go there daily and don’t realize it

Ah, the Force is strong with this establishment! 🍽️✨ A Jedi Master I am, yet even I could not resist the culinary mastery that unfolded before me. Stopping in for a meal, I embarked on a most satisfying journey—one that began with the legendary Chicken Katsu Curry. 🥢🔥 Perfectly crispy, rich in flavor, and harmonized by a most delectable curry sauce, it was balanced by a bed of fluffy rice and a delightful serving of macaroni salad. A true feast worthy of the Jedi Council! But the Force called me further… to dessert. 🍰 The fabled Paradise Cake awaited, and like the twin suns of Tatooine, its layers shone brilliantly—moist, airy, and infused with the very essence of the tropics. It was, indeed, paradise in every bite. Beyond the main hall, the bakery stood as a temple of sweet indulgence, its shelves adorned with an array of treats both enticing and plentiful. Whether one seeks a simple delight to accompany their meal or a treasure to bring home, the options are vast—like the stars in the galaxy. 🌌🍩 Yet, the greatness of this place is not solely in its food. The service—swift and kind—reminded me of the warmth of the Jedi Order. And the prices? More than fair for the portions and quality presented. A true hidden gem, this is! Marked in my holocron of favorite destinations, it shall remain. And return, I must. For another bite of paradise, another taste of balance. Until then, may the Force be with this most excellent establishment! ⚔️💫

First time dining in since the pandemic... Still very health conscious, everyone was wearing a mask, they had hand sanitizer stations everywhere, as well as the plexiglass between staff and the customers. The bakery when you walk in has so many options to choose from. My hands down fav Will always be the Chocolate dobash cake, chocolate dobash mochi donuts, (well anything chocolate dobash), Pineapple tres leches cake, the Rainbow bread, Pineapple Danish, and their famous Paradise cake. Anything you try will be a hit. The staff were very attentive to us and our needs, constantly checking up on us and seeing if we need anything else. The food was impeccable, as always. Unfortunately, there's a limited amount of food you can order, but the options were still the best of the best. The Macadamia Nut Onion rings were still as tasty as I remember. The Kalbi beef was so juicy and full of flavor. If you can't decide what to order and want a little bit of everything, the mixed plate is the way to go, you get a little of all the best sellers, huli huli chicken, Kalua pork, teriyaki beef and lomi lomi salmon all served with white rice and their signature potatoe macaroni salad. Their Chocolate Macadamia nut flavored coffee was delicious as well, you Don't even need To add any sugar or creamer and the coffee is still full of flavor. I'm so excited to be back and can't wait to come back for more.

Restaurant review only:a big sign attracts your attention. King hawaiian bakery AND restaurant? You think to yourself, a must try! Walk up to lovely hawaiian music playing. Big windows let's you look in to see a stocked assortment of baked goods. Go left, and there's the attached restaurant. The hostess is a superstar. Kind, courteous, attentive. Everything a restaurant wants at the front desk. You are promptly seated with plenty of space for many guests. My server was also polite and kind and attentive. Stellar job hiring these front of house staff. For the pleasant staff is a reason on it's own to come back. As you glance at the menu, you realize it's double the price for hawaiian bbq and you think, why not. With the name, it has to be exceptional. You are poorly mislead... I ordered a bbq kalbi platter. Razor thin short ribs. One scoop of each white rice and macaroni salad. $24 for such a small meal is outrageous. Had the kalbi been thicker, it would have been a great price. I also ordered a side of katsu, which was generously poritoned and rather tasty. I wanted to order from the bakery. I'll save that for another time. If you like restaurants for their atmosphere more than for their food, this is a wonderful place to sit. If you prefer healthy portions of tasty food and don't mind if it's a smaller hole in the wall, go somewhere else.
