Cafe Joie — Restaurant in Torrington

My visit to Cafe Joie with my family was great. It was my first time getting rolled ice cream; very cool presentation and great flavors! My family and I sat on the couch in the bay window and shared a ‘YOLO’ and a ‘Berry Good Time’. We enjoyed ourselves looking out at the river and all the businesses on Main and East Main St. I would highly recommend making this a go to ice cream shop. I had been sleeping on Cafe Joie for some time - always driving by but never stopping. Finally went last night and WOW! Each ice cream is truly a masterpiece. The owner, Chris, is an artist and each dish is meticulously made. We came in near close and Chris let us stay while we enjoyed our ice cream and we had great conversation. My wife and I ordered Lattes, and my wife asked if he can do decaf. The owner proceeded to berate us about how decaf coffee is not real coffee, ranted about how he is suing Starbucks, then suggested my wife should just not drink coffee (among other rant, we eventually walked out).
