Denny's — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

I disliked Dennys for yrs, but was not opposed to patronizing the establishment yesterday as my friend likes I wanted her to enjoy what she likes. To my surprise, my meal of 2 over easy eggs, rye toast, hashbrowns, and bacon was made EXACTLY to my liking. I just donot enjoy going to any restaurants during b this disastrous covid issue. The good part about it is the barriers between patrons and the spacing as well. I will not go to a restaurant where everyone is elbow to elbow as is the old fashioned pancake house on Main St. in Williamsville/Amherst. I took my patients there yrs ago and they were rude. They would Hawkeye over your table and soon as you put your utensil down to take a drink or you had maybe one bite left the waitresses would come by and swipe your plate. Now I go to a restaurant to enjoy a good meal, stretch out my food as to not gobble and run as is done when working for many people. I donot go alone. I and a friend plan out a couple hrs to chat, enjoy our food, have a drink or just enjoy a cup of coffee uninterrupted and hopefully do so in a place that strives to please the customer with atmosphere. Whether it be background music, lighting for relaxing, and a good combination of smells from the kitchen. Then there are times I like Applebee's or Buffalo Wild Wings where there are sports on the tv and friends that enjoy a happy boisterous evening together. This place wants you to scarf your food and get out fast so they can get more people in. They came out and said as much. That it's not allowed that you sit for awhile and let your food digest somewhat and then order a dessert. NEVER WILL I GO...

I would be remiss if I failed to send a note of absolute appreciation for the AMAZING service and meal provided by the staff at Denny's on Maple. I am a representative with a biopharmaceutical company and I needed to provide lunch for 25-30 people at a large office nearby. Colleen was honestly fabulous! Her customer service oriented approach, professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail were noteworthy! When I placed the call to order, she was attentive and offered suggestions to make this order perfect. As a rep, you are only as good as the food you bring...so I was well taken care of. To the kitchen staff, the lunch was fantastic! The hot foods were hot and the cold food was cold. The food was fresh and plentiful. To the wait staff who worked with me, very courteous and professional! From the minute I walked in the restaurant, I was greeted and my order was addressed immediately. Colleen walked me to the car and made certain my order was correctly packed and all there. I really can't say enough about her.

The well-roundedness of this experience was incredible. This is not the first time I ordered. This restaurant and staff offer consistency as I have ordered previously and received the same attention to detail. Please note that these people are wonderful and I will return to Denny's! It's all too often you hear of complaints, well not from me and certainly not for this restaurant!...

The only reason this place even got one star was because I had to , to make a review . First I repeated my order to the waiter 5 times and she still could not understand what was being ordered a simple breakfast already on the menus . Second my boyfriend and I had asked for over medium eggs and they came out burnt no yolk we asked for knew eggs she said you ordered over medium , next time don’t order them that way with a grin . On top of that we asked for extra hash browns . And we got a kids portion size that looked like it was taken off someone else’s plate. About 15 min goes by Still had not gotten the eggs back yet so we approached a knew waiter as explained what happened and he immediately helped with the problem and resolved both issues in the matter of minutes with our new food the CORRECT way over all worst experience wish you had more waiters that actually knew what they were doing . Like the gentlemen that helped us . Day after Christmas HAPPY HOLIDAYS !! .
