Inchin's Bamboo Garden — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

Quick answer- consider other options before going here. Local, family owned Chinese, Indian and Asian cuisine restaurants in the area are far superior in service, food quality and taste, and overall experience.

Ordered: *Dumpling platter: Presentation- 0/5, Flavor/Food Quality - 2.5/5. The waitress did not tell us anything about the dumplings we were given, so we have no idea what kind of dumplings we ate *Orange chicken: Presentation- 5/5, Flavor/Food Quality- 4/5 (it was yummy, but spicier than we were told) *Fried rice- Presentation- 4/5, Flavor/Food Quality- 4/5 (my son loved it but his dad and I weren't very impressed. Seemed fresh though) *Chicken Lettuce Wraps- Presentation- 2/5, Flavor/Food Quality- 2/5- The chicken tasted kind of funny. It was chosen because it was one of the few items listed as not spicy, but there were clearly a lot of red pepper flakes in them and it was definitely spicy. The lettuce given was the inner part of the lettuce that I struggled to use as wraps *Butter chicken - Presentation-3.5/5, Flavor/Food Quality- 2/5- would have been better if it had come to the table hot, or even just warm. *Lazy Temple cocktail- Presentation- 0/5, Flavor/Food Quality- 0/5. Drink came in a clear glass with an additional tea pot with more in it. Watered down and was not worth $16 *Naan bread- Presentation- 4/5, Flavor/Food Quality-4/5- it would have been better but it was over toasted- not warm and soft

We will not be going back here and we will not be recommending anyone go here. Even if we had been offered a discount, refund, or alternative meal, the entire experience was just really bad.

We were there for 2 hours, just waiting for our food most of the time. The waitresses seemed unsupported and overwhelmed. They were really trying, but the experience we had showed that this place is a poorly managed mess.

We arrived at 5:30pm, and we're seated right away. The ambience was nice- quiet and relaxing. It took a little while for the waitress to come and take our order, and we waited until ~6:25 to actually receive our food. Even then, they were missing some of our order and we had to ask for it.

The food was not great. As I said above, we have eaten at various Indian, Chinese, and other Asian restaurants in the area and this place was subpar in the food Quality, and Flavor. We knew going there that it was going to be more expensive than some other places, but we expected a better experience as a result.

We had been there since 5:30 and didn't leave until 7:15. We didn't even bother trying to send back food and complain, because everything took so long and we just wanted to be out of there. Also, no one came to ask how our meal was anyway- after about 10 minutes of having our food, the waitress just sped by our table and put the receipt on the table "Here's your check" and sped off again. To pay, we had to flag someone down. We still gave an 18% tip, because the waitresses...

I feel really mixed about my experience. First of all the food was great in flavor and qulity. I got the mustard fish and was a bit leary to order it but omg it was amazing flavorful not at all fishy and had a very nice spice level! I look farward to trying more foods here based on this. Also beautiful resturant inside! Our bad exspence realy came down to being a take out. This was our first time and we got take away. Picking it up I thought it looked really nice inside and clean and I will definitely go back to dine in based on my over all exspence but probably will not ever get take out again. The areas that I think could use improvement come mostly to take out and the menue. First the menue is a bit vauge so we were not entirely sure what we were ordering as there's no description. Also both our orders looked very non descript and similar which became a problem because I ordered fish and my partner can't eat fish. There was no labeling or differentiating it and we really had to examine it under light for several minutes to try to figure which was chicken and fish and it took alot to convince my partner which was chicken and safe for him. This could be avoided by simply putting some marking on the containers! Also and similarly we ordered one brown rice one white, the brown being due to digestive diatary restrictions. They were not labeled and both looked identical under a bright light one looked like it may be slightly less white but I'm not convinced eather was brown rice so I didn't eat mine...which leads to another thing it dosnt come with sides so no vegitables or rice so I paid extra to get rice then wasn't even sure I got the right thing and at the price I don't see why small sides are not included to create balanced meals. Lastly the packaging was disappointing my fish was just kinda mashed into a lil round container like a soup would come in which was a bit unappealing.

So that said I would not suggest take out especially if there are dietary needs or allergies. How ever my fish had amazing flavor and I will definitely go there to eat inside their beautiful clean restaurant where there's someone to help explain menue items and also to make sure we know we got tge right meals and they not be crammed and mashed in a container.

And seriously the flavor...so fricken delicious if you like a lil spice and a ton of flavor the mustard fish was seriously so tasty! Unless I got the chicken but so far my spouce is ok so I'm pretty sure we figured it out and...

We went there for one of my buddy’s birthday,i was with my kid and wife we checked online it says it closes at 9:30 so we reached there around 8:30 or 8:45 we drove all the way from hamburg The server came in we were discussing what to order he try to rush us in a rude way we were in group,having good time so we ignored him we ordered food ,food came in one dish was too salty he took it back came back with other one it was saltier then before so told them make different dish and pack it for us as we were almost done eating he came in couple of time every time he comes in he was rude finally dinner came in and while serving dinner he told my cousin u have 7 to 8 minutes to finish your dinner we checked other tables they were 3 or 4 families still having dinner He is being rude and the way he was treating us we decided not to give tip to the server ,the bill came in 21% tip was already included in the bill i called the server and ask him why the tip is already included in bill he showed me the menu it says if more then 5 people it will be automatically added i ask for manager and told her i dont want to give the tip she deducted the tip from bill as nicest way as she can( she was not happy but in this situation she handled it really good) while leaving i was talking to her what happened and why we decided not to give tip to server the server was next to her start yelling and i told him am i talking to u he start shouting some other servers have to intervene they pulled him away from my sight after he left i was again talking to manager she apparently was the owner of the place so i told her we came all the way from Hamburg we did not expect this the server came back again and start arguing ,finally we decided to leave but it was really bad experience as that server was not listening to the owner as well she was telling him keep quiet he was still keep yelling and i was not even talking to him 🤦‍♂️ The management should not add tips in the bill automatically let the server earn it if u add the tip automatically they don't care about service they will do whatever they want it will ruin...
