Stopped in originally to go to Life Core, looked up and saw Indian food. Yum. Never heard of it before. Went in to have a look. Interior is nice. Ordered two bowls and put together a standard concoction of indian traditionalism and $31 later...left and went home. Now what I'm saying is its Indian food, minus the heat on traditional dishes...but WOW does it pack some delicious flavor!! I didnt do any americanized additions like building a salad out of it with lettuce or cucumbers, etc. Maybe it would be fine. Maybe next time just to explore combinations. The staff was very pleasant and down to earth. The portions were generous and there was no restrictions on how you want to build your meal. Yes I paid extra for extras...and in the end, to keep it simply said from cousin Eddie on Christmas Vacation....its Gooooooooo-oooood!! Delicious makhani. Delicious channa masala. Delicious paneer. Turmeric basmati...nice! Definately worthy of more visits.
update: 8/6/23 Things have changed. Dropping my overall stats down to 3 stars for a fast food chain. It's still good as an option for a quick substitution of real Indian style food on the fly, but me personally will be bypassing and opting for more traditional food when I feel the...
Read moreThis restaurant is the Indian equivalent of Chipotle or Moe's. You choose a style (bowl, burrito, or taco), then customize your base, sauce, and toppings. If you're looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, then you may wish to eat elsewhere, but if you are open to a modern, customizable experience then you will likely be pleased.
I'm a huge fan of lamb makhani and Naan-tastic's makhani sauce did not disappoint. The sauce was sweet, creamy, and delicious. The sauce is fairly mild, so if you prefer your Indian spicy I recommend topping it with some of their garlic chili sauce. The turmeric rice has a nice flavor. Next time, I would probably be interested in trying fries as a base.
The makhani samosas were packed full of flavor. They are fairly big portions and do have a tiny bit of heat to them (as a warning for those who prefer milder spices). The samosas come with sides of the sweet tamarind sauce and the cilantro mint sauce. Both pair nicely and were full of flavor.
Service was quick and the staff were friendly. They are very helpful at suggesting combinations if you find yourself overwhelmed by choices. I will definitely...
Read moreTLDR - I drove over 400 miles to try the Makhani fries (and I guess see family for the holidays 🙃), and this place did not disappoint (mostly). Definitely recommend giving it a try!
A few months ago I happened across an Instagram ad for Naan-tastic's Makhani fries & was super excited by the concept. Turns out, they have a location a few miles away from where we would be staying for holiday family events. So we made plans to swing by while we're in the area!
A quick online order & easy pickup process. Tried quite a handful of items. The Makhani fries were quite delicious - but, while I was aware it was a sweet makhani sauce, it ended up being much more sweet than I prefer. Toward the end of the dish, the sweetness was starting to put me off of it. Tasted kinda like a traditional Makhani sauce mixed 50/50 with a sweet BBQ sauce. Otherwise, the paneer was delicious & the fries were really good!
Also tried fries with the vindaloo sauce, which felt much better balanced & delicious.
Overall, thrilled to have gotten to try the place - and everything was well prepared & tasty! Maybe a just slightly too...
