Rachel's Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Town of Amherst

Went here with a group of co-workers today. Based on all the social media confusion, we weren't sure if it was open. I was excited to here it was going into the plaza so close to my place of employment.

Luckily we arrived just before the lunch rush. As soon as we walked in I was happily surprised to see a bike rack inside were you can park your bike up against the wall. Happy Earth Day.

That got me thinking about environment and decided to try and order my lunch with an environmental impact in mind. Ordered falafel on greens instead of meat on a wrap of in a pitas. Score another environmental point for them with the cardboard bowl instead of plastic. We ate in so I was able to avoid the plastic lid for the bowl. I didn't order a drink to avoid the plastic cup. Although I did have to use a plastic fork, hoping it was made from recycled plastic.

The food was really good although there were a couple of issues my co-workers encountered. Too much garlic dressing on one of their wraps, made it almost inedible. I had the opposite problem, with just a small amount of dressing put on my salad. I asked for a little more and they happily obliged but if I didn't tell them to stop I would have more then likely been having a dressing soup salad. Another colleague had trouble finishing her wrap as well because it fell apart in her hands. I would think this would get better as the workers become more experienced.

As far as price goes, it is reasonable. Someone from our party mentioned it is better priced then Panera or Chiptole.

Since it is a brand new location it was very clean and modern decor. Although, not very unique. We believe they used the same decorator as Chipotle. The acoustic are a little echoey when it comes to...

The only reason I will be giving them 1 star is because the food is great... but the service is absolutely ABSURD. I work for a Drs office and majority of the staff will order Rachel's on Fridays. We order online and ask for delivery at 12pm!! It is now 12:56pm and we have been told our food is on our way multiple times. Our providers have patients to see and cannot be waiting around for their lunch to finally show up. Each employee has a specific time for lunch and multiple employees missed their lunch. When called to ask why they would allow a lunch to be so incredibly late... they said delivery is not guaranteed at the time we requested because they get so many orders. They said "thats just how it is when you order from us...". and "maybe just pick it up next time..." ... It is absolutely unacceptable to have a PAYING customer wait this long for food. We called again and inquired yet again.. they didnt even have our order in!!!!!!!!! They were being nasty with our employee and they didnt even have our order!!!!!! The website took our money (over 100$ worth) and we even called to confirm they received it, to which we were told they did. The manager, Jacob, did not apologize for the inconvenience, but did say they would have the order to us within 15 mins. We are very disappointed because we clearly enjoy the food. They just have no sense of customer service at all. No care for their customers. If you want to wait hours for your food and encounter rude employees, then definitely order from Rachel's. Otherwise, dont even...

Hands down the worst managed 'restaurant' i have ever seen. placed an online order today at 12:03, order suppose to be ready at 12:28. Arrived at 12:23, many people waiting outside, nobody getting their order. Nobody was allowed inside and nobody was coming outside to give orders. However, those that did NOT place online orders were allowed inside and placed their order and received their food before everyone else. After going in twice, and quickly being asked to leave, and placing two calls inside to no avail, 32 minutes later, with no food, and screaming toddlers in the backseat, we had to leave. This is absolutely the worst managed placed i have literally ever seen. I can't even believe an establishment can operate so inefficiently. there were 4 employees inside, and literally nobody looked like they were preparing, what should be easy to make meals. The one tall guy that did come out every so often gave literally everyone, including me, such an attitude, it was really disgusting. i had to call back close to 10 times to get someone to even answer the phone to tell them to cancel my order. I will honestly never go back.

UPDATE : I CHECKED MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT AND THESE GUYS TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE ORDER EVEN THOUGH I CALLED AND CANCELED THE ORDER AND ASKED THEM SPECIFICALLY IF THEY WOULD CHARGE ME AND THEY SAID NO!!!! I DISPUTED THE CHARGE WITH MY CC COMPANY AND...
